i am vietnamese but cannot speak it fluently and i am not able to read or write. i was wondering if anyone knows where an adult can go to learn Vietnamese ( reading / writing especially) . i know they have schools for kids but i don't think i would feel comfortable in class with 5-8 year olds
Hit up Mt. Royal and put up posters... guarnateed you'll get some responses.

I was going to get my friend to teach me but i just thought it would be easier to learn in a more structured setting.
i was enroled in a school when i was a kid but dropped out becuase i didn't think i would ever need it. who knew that when i grew up i would want to live half of each year in Vietnam.

A good place that has structured vietnamese language classes for adults is a vietnamese church. I know the Calgary Vietnamese Mennonite Church up in whitehorn used to teach Vietnamese classes.

lol.. iam a vietnamese mod what u talkin bout haha.. and it's not that bad.. maybe my one post should be in ask leo instead of general haha..
there actually is a school to learn vietnamese. i'll ask my parents where they teach it now. the only thing is they teach you in northern accents and not southern accents. so if you're southern you gotta try to learn northern stuff haha. easy though, i finished 1 & 3, 6-9, 10 & 11 in 2 years. Got honors and a buncha money with it as well hahaha.
