i have 2 15" audiobahn special editons with a nitro 2000watt amp. i had a pro. install the wiring job. some hick install the deck, and i connected the wires to the amp. when i hooked it all up they worked and sounded very well. but about 15 minutes later the amp just shut off. so then i checked the ground wire. it was still connected. so i checked the rca wires and signal wire. still wont work. the lights in the amp turn on but the green power light wont turn on. the protection light comes on when i remove the ground wire. so i have no idea what happend. did i possibley blow the amp??? does anyone know what els might be wrong. any help would be great. thanks

I just checked the amp on Ebay, is yours the same model as this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEON-NITRO-2-CHANNEL-2000-WATT-CAR-AUDIO-AMPLIFIER-AMP_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38638QQitemZ8037228703QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
because if it is then your amp is done. $118.95 for 2000 watts, they over rate their amps more than the Xplod amps. Some super-super peak numbers.

Lol, I don't know if its dead. What I mean is you get what you paid for. If you bench test that amp, you be lucky to get 300 watts RMS. I am sure you are underpowering the subs though. Whats model are the subs and are they SVC or DVC? Budget?

dude im a newbie. lol um they are audiobahn special editions. the amp was like 100 dollers. i thought it would be a good one and it looked cool. i took it to a guy i know and he unpluged the fues in the power wire by the battery and touched the wire to the battery with no fues and it workd. he said i had a bad fues. so i went to autozone and they said it was a good fues.

JBL BP1200.1D, best amp dollar for dollar. You could probably find these on EBay for around $300-400. The subs are in a single enclosure? How are they wired up?

if the subs arent wired properly there is a chance that the amp will go into protection mode if it cant handle the resistance the subs are wired to.

^Thats correct. Low quality amps also go into this protection mode a lot more readily than better amps.

k i had the same problem with my pioneer amp its cause my power wire to the amps from the battery was fucked i checked the fuse it was fine then i looked down the line and it was melted to the floor and grounded out i figured the fuse was supposed to stop that but it didn't so check ur power wire all the way down i bet it is grounded out somewhere
