OK i need some advice. Ive been saving for the past year and a half for an import. Ive chosen the Skyline GTR. Now, what would you guys say is a REASONABLE price for an 1990 GTR with around 100xxxkms but no higher than 110xxx, a few modifications but nothing durastic.so pretty much an equivilent to an auction grade of 3.5-4.0...
Ive been looking at Skylines from many different import companies and know that the price varys quite a bit. I know that each car is different considering its a 15 year old car and each one has different mods etc.
So i guess my biggest question is what the difference between a GTR on IMPORT CONCERN for $21 000 or a car from RACE BRED PERFORMANCE that has the equivilent specs, kms, etc, for around $15 000 - $17 000. theres also the SKYLINE SHOP and JDM CONNECTION.

If somone could help me out as to what they think about this i would greatly appreciate it, or anyone that owns a Skyline already, there advice would be helpful aswell. THANX

well i probably wouldn't rock a skyline unless you have a reliable back up, shit breaks and the skyline shop doesn't have it in stock, you could have a pretty long wait for parts :dunno:

i'd say ball park of 12-15 grand

Do you mean the Nismo GT-R on Import Concern for $24,000?

GT-R's have come down in price since Australia lost their 15 year rule. With Import Concern, a grade 3.0-4.0 GT-R with guaranteed mileage is around $12,000-15,000 just as finboy said. That is if you buy the vehicle while it is still in Japan. You should budget $500-1000 for the inspection when it arrives in Canada.

You can't really compare landed cars with cars that are still in Japan, most companies will mark up landed cars by much more than they would to simply source and import a vehicle for you. This is also because landed cars are inspected, cleaned up and repaired.

Parts shouldnt' be a problem .. probaby can get direct from Japan or Cali ...

Price wish .. since there are lots of them in Canada .. ( probaby more 17 yr old Skyline in Canada then in Japan! )

It costs app. $7-8K to buy one from Japan, after shipping, tax, duty, and let whoever make $2K on you .. probaby $12-15K will be what they r asking for .. :)

i'd be careful with a GT-R, if you ever neede to take the engine out for whatever reason the labour is so expensive for those cars because of the AWD. I just imported a TT fairlady and couldnt be happier, but i had to drop 2K into her before it was legal.

99% of the time its RWD, until you lose traction and then 50% of the TQ/HP is sent to the front, making it 50/50 AWD.

^^^^ ya but the lancer evo system is like that also. its mainly rwd, and when the rear slips it switches to 50/50 awd, the closest i think right now to true awd in affordable cars is the wrx stis. which is mainly 30/70

i am in love with the celsior and the soarer though :P :bigpimp: i think the celsiors used to be somewhat of a yakuza car, its listed as a vip car and back in the day the words yakuza and vip were very closely link lol

actually i think the evos are rwd with distribution on slippage. but it is truely rwd. whereas the subie actually have a little bit of a split during normal driving. both has a nos intercooler spray :D
