In your opinion what's the worst car you've ever owned, rode in, borrowed, stole, serviced, raced etc.
The Lada Niva tops the list as one of the worst cars Ive ever driven , their a cool little 4X4 bush car but are a nightmare on the streets, what makes them even worse are all the interior switches, knobs etc were never translated into english and the ones with stickman characters dont even make sense. It doesn't help either that they have 4 or 5 different gear shift levers as well as wiring and electrical components that are a complete abortion.

dodge caravan, one of the most popular 'cars' on the road, not actually a car, feels like itll fall apart above 120, like no torque for a 3.0 V6...not to mention that grown men driving minivans just scream 'owned by middle age'

Seeing how it's a proper off-road car, I don't see why having a proper gearbox is a problem?

Oh come on, if you only used the switches once or twice, you'd learn what they do by heart, just like in any other car.

I like Nivas :)

I had a rental Ford Escort for part of a day...that car really sucked. A friend of mine bought a Dodge Stratus as a beater car. It was horrible. One of the seatbelts didn't work, the seats wouldn't stay in place, burnt headlight harness. He got rid of the car a few days after he bought it.

I find it hard to fault economy cars for being rough around the edges, but that thing made me want to chain saw out the interior.
The power liftgate is so noisey and slow you want to run out and help it As for the power running board. It sweeps you off of your feet by pushing your leg out, maybe if it was as noisey as the liftgate you would rember to wait for it.The buttons on the steering wheel were so scattered in their placement it was like using a Dvork keyboard for the first time.

My first car..... the 88 Ford (Fucker Only Runs Downhill; Found on Road Dead; Fucked Over Re-arranged Dodge) Clitaurus.

That thing went through a liter of oil every 2 days. Didn't burn it, didn't leak, it was always stalling; brutal cheap crap parts and so on. When I went into the gas station I would tell them to fill the oil check the gas.

Most of these cars you are all mentioning were well known to be pieces when they rolled out of the factory. I mean, the tempo, k car, metro line etc were all extremely affordable cars that were marketed to the general public as an affordable means of transportation. I mean, some of these cars were sold for under $7000, and that was up to the 90s.

Still however, the Lada has to be the worst car, since it virtually has no support from dealers (if there even are any), although the Niva 4x4 is a pretty cool little beater (I hear that if you re-do the vehicles wiring, it is a pretty reliable car - lada engineers biggest mistake was the wiring).

My vote's gotta go to Lada. They were still running carborated engines when every other car maker had used fuel injection for years. The cars looked like they came straight out of the Russian military.

In Mechanics 10...we did a lot of our stuff on teh l33t Chevette.
woooooooooot! I hate that car...

Saturn Ions and Jbody's as well...i hate. Buick Rendevouz kinda eats ass...but the aztek is on another level of shitness...
Also...In Italy, they have these little 2 meter tiny ass cars that you can drive at like, 12, that go 35mph...I read an article about them, and it said "Most are souped up, and go about 60mph." Crazy!

While I was working in England I drove a Fiat Uno Diesel . It was horribly slow, loud, and cheap !! While going around a roundabout at 30 km/h , the outside front tire peeled off the rim !!
I only drove it from/to work . The rest of time , I took a bus or train. Being diesel , I only filled it once a month. That was the ONLY good thing about it !

Actually almost 20 years. None the less, a lot as changed in them cars over the years and now they are a great car for the market they are going after

Every car made will not appeal to each person, and thats why there are so may cars on the road now. You have a car for every persons needs and wants. Lets face it. Not every person needs a mini van, but to a family who has 5 kids in it. I mini van gets the job needed done. To a single guy who has a girl or not, a 2 door coup will do. You will never find the best car made, and you will never find the worst car made overall. You need to look at the market they are going after and compare the competion. ect, the chevette was crappy, so was the omni, but the civic took tops. but i compare todays civic to say a corvette, thats no competion. the vette would win. but they are geared to two diffrent groups.

So in the end, you will never find the worst car madem becuase it will have fulfiled the needs of somebody some where making it the best car to them.

we weren't talking about price ... we were talking about in your opinion what the worst car ever made was ... price isn't an issue ... if you refer back the navigator was one ... priced extremely high but in his opinion one of the worst cars ever made ... but IMO i would have to say escort ... something about them just aggrivates me :D
