So is Alberta Wheel repair still the only choice and are they still either hit or miss with customer service?

Has anyone used them recently?

And is do I have any other choices?

thanks

Don't get me started on AWR..........I've voiced my opinions on them many times.....There is another option (in fact I'm calling them on tuesday to have them REDO my wheel done by AWR....)...I can't remember the number right now, but I do have it written down somewhere.....PM me if you want it, its a mobile repair guy, so he'll come out to you! If I remember right, this may be the guy dealerships use, but I'll have to confirm that.....

Our eurodrivers board is having some problems, I would crosslink my thread regarding AWR service and quality otherwise....lets just say its ugly

If you're willing to ship out to Edmonton, send it to Wheelworks. I've heard great things from them from the Subaru guys up north.

My wheels have some chips and curbs on them... so they need to be stripped, filled and powdercoated. Would this mobile guy do them? If so could someone please pm a number, thanks!

I would agree with that if he was posting his number, but I fail to see the problem with car enthusiasts distributing public knowledge through a public forum in an effort to help one another out. It's not like we're getting paid for referrals or something. :dunno:

ill give   for Alloy Wheel Repair (aka "The Mobile Guy") I have him do ALL my refinishing work on cars that come though the shop.

I even had him do a few personal jobs for me and i have been very happy with his pricing, and quality of work. I had AWR repair the finish on one of the rims on the Trailblazer, and after abour 4 weeks, the finish started pealing off. I found that they had not even sanded the old finish down (which was pealing) so the new finish we pealing its self.

Being a painter, i know if it aint sanded, it aint going to last (Note: Chippy Check NEVER lasts). I sent it to "the mobile guy", and he redid it about 6 months ago now, and i have not seen anything (did not even peal when i put the winters on, and put new weights on)

So how much time does this mobile guy need to finish a wheel? Pricing structure? As long as he does a good job in a timely manner, wouldn't mind paying more.

88CRX
03-19-2006, 12:51 AM
i called him the other day.

$125-$150+ per rim depending on the damage.

and he said a couple days... thats all.

AllGoNoShow
03-19-2006, 01:47 AM
Cheaper and faster then AWR if he stand sup to it.

I got a spare I coudl let him test on, just need some extra coin and stop buying brake stuff and I will give it a go.

Anyone tried him yet?
