I haven't done anything to the engine yet, as my arrived to my house just today. It's looking good I must say. I have some cleaning up and fabrication work to do for my carPC and navigation system, as well as a new amp that I am planning for. My first performance upgrade will be new cams and maybe a new suspension. Not too much planned for the engine just yet.

I was there last year. Racing too!:eek:

But since I snapped an Axle after SCC, at our Friday Street Legals, in Edmonton. I will not race in another city for fear of braking more axles. At least I broke it at home instead of CowTown.

Its not a one up contest, just an event for everyone to meet eachother. I have yet to even show up in my mr2. We have everything from stock to full modded come out. Hope to see you out this year. :)

The car is so awful looking right now. All the panels are off, windows are out, all seals are off. One of the rims is on it so Dan at Screamin paintworks can roll the fenders. Paint should be done very soon though then comes the fun part of installing my garage full of parts! Oh well its just an old toyota...i hear you have something special on the way :)

Brand New Floor Mats from Walmart. I was gonna spring for the ones that say NOS, but decided against my better judgement.

Small dent on headlight cover from sliding into the back end of a Chevy Pickup. - Makes the car more areodynamic, like those scoops but without the air being sucked in.

Garage Fukui Departure II exhaust.
I should probably get a downpipe at the same time. Anyone with one lying around for sale?

What I do need are new headlights - any recommendations, sylvanias any good?

What I like about the mr2 community is that nobody talks shit about anyone else so lets keep it that way. Whats cool about our meets is that every mr2 there is different and each one has their own special qualities.
Ekmax's is rhd, black, stealth and fast as hell
Canadian FC's car is a super clean 93 and was the mr2 that started it all in Alberta.
James is a jdm hardtop!
Ghettobabys is jdm and sounds like it will be super fast
Zenshi is a crazy frankenstein machine that will destroy my car

and forthehellofit's car sounds like its going to be a show stopping crazy build.. If I could own each one of your cars I would but Im too low budget.

The only problem is that I have been working on his car with him for the better part of a year. I can vouch for every thing he had listed and a hell of a lot more on that car. The list of parts he has had to custom make because they just don't exist is huge.

I have been following MR2's longer than most people on this board and I can honestly say the only MR2 in Canada that I can think of that is more built than this car is LB's drag car, which really has almost nothing to do with an MR2.

Ryan you know the kind of people that I run with, so you know if I say it is built, it is built. I can also tell you that you have ridden with "forthehellofit", though not in his car. Please don't use any names. Go to the sports car clubs forum and read the trifecta thread. See the kinds of cars running. I can tell you that I think forthehellofit has a very serious shot at winning.

It is up to you guys to decide what you want this forum to be. Maybe you just want it to be a semi-social club. If so power to you.

But if you want to start luring back the heavy technical people you are going to have to rethink your approach.

Hey Shawn, glad to see you back!. I think the reason some people responded in the way they did to forthehellofits post is because he came across very aggressive from the get go. He accused some of us including myself of trash talking which is something I never ever do about someone elses car. Im pretty sure I know who forthehellofit is, and I know his car will be something special because chances are Ill be going to him and you for advise when I see some of these one off parts. I guess car builds can sometimes bring out ego matches which is fine. Some people just need to take things a little less seriously, its just a car forum with a bunch of guys who dreive toyotas.:)

Hmmm... I dont think any of us were really doubting his MR2. (I was a little bit, since the unique factor is totally different then being tottaly built.)

Not to be lashing out, but seriously... People shouldn't start claiming things when they dont have anything to back it up. Any board you will get this. Example would be: "I own a 10 second honda, I ran 10.xx at XXX drag-strip." No one will believe him really until he actually has a slip or some type of proof. :)

Maybe Im just bitter about people who can't walk the talk... and just talk the talk :)

Well, I had big plans for my MR2 ever since it came in from Japan in February. I've been working on it for the past month and have had to replace/upgrade some parts that I wasn't planning on, but hey, that's the name of the game.

Here's a short list of things that I have done/will do before I bring it out:

-CarPC with auto shutdown/startup mode, GPS Navi, slot-load DVD player, and 60GB HD and 7" Widescreen Touchscreen
-Custom dash fibreglass fabrication for the touchscreen/DVD
-Pioneer 4ch Amplifier (anti-thump wired into PC) w/ custom frunk mount
-Installed Daytime Running Lights (custom fitted/wired for my body kit)
-17" Tenso wheels w/ Nexen tires (thanks EK9Max)
-GAB Dual Coil Adjustable Coilovers w/ upper pillowball mounts
-Razzo Shift Knob and new black leather shift boot
-Dual Gauge Pillar Pod (RHD) w/ new Autometer 7-color tinted pods (boost and air/fuel ratio)
-Planning on a new Compustar 2-way remote starter/alarm

I'm also planning on redoing the paint. It's currently black, and I want to keep it that way, but the clearcoat is peeling in a few spots so I'll have to get it all sanded down before I repaint it. Maybe I'll wait on that for a while.

I haven't done anything to the engine, nor am I planning on anything big. Some new downpipes and stuff like that, but nothing crazy.

Well I totally didn't expect anyone to believe me when I claimed what I said. But I also didn't expect to be treated the way that I was.

I'm not going to drop J's name or anyone else's in order to gain some respect on this board. If this is the way you treat new people to this mr2 community then I don't think I'll be a part of your community. If you wonder why I don't show up at your meet's, this thread is the reason why.

It seems clear that you are all happy with the existing members in your group and are happy with the depth of knowlegde and mr2 cars existing in it. I'm sure you won't miss my input into the community or my mr2.

I hope my mr2 stays under the radar until it's completeled but I doubt that it will. I think it will probably be spoted when it's in for painting. When you hear about it and the questions start, you can all read about the car on the other forums because I don't feel welcome here anymore and I won't be posting about the car or the build on this forum.

And as to why I didn't post more details. Well I wanted to show a picture of the finished product not a half done car. Besides if I posted all the details and modifications that I've done to this car you guys would believe me even less.

I have decided to go a different route with my car. Last fall at school my mr2 got vandilizedl, keyed down both sides ripped the spoiler off and bashed the hood in, the total was $5438 worth of damage to the car. luckly tho my VOLK formula mesh rims where not harmed. Now i could have gone with the body kit and all CF which i just about did. But then i thought to myself Its probley more unique to have an absolutly mint STOCK looking car then one with the kit and cf, now im sure not all will agree but i know the hardcore mr2 guys will apreciate it. The only mods i will do to it are tien SS with the EBC, along with a full NAK/ADS/PPI audio video system. Also im trying ot decide if i want to re cover the leather on my factory seats or go with a new set of sparco's. I am also getting a BLITZ sbc-iD to watch the boost. later in the summer i plan to add a tdo5/20g turbo but i cant afford all the suporting mods as of right now so it will have to wait.

should be a fun summer..
