Honda already has plans for a new Civic Type R for 2007. I certainly hope they consider bringing one to north america for the 1st time. Also, it's suposed to be powered by a new 2.2L engine!

Doesn't the Si make 200hp? Why would the Type R do the same?

its looks pretty darn good...but i think they should have used the csx's headlights on it instead.

It's not the same. The 2.2L is rated at 220hp, and obviously torque will be higher too.

maybe the lighter body will compensate but that is odd

I bet anything this thing will be over 2800lbs. Look at the mini/new dodge concept. Over 3000lbs. insane. All in all the CTR wont be as quick as I hope it will. But tuning potential will be there if its a K series 2.2L. hopefully the bore will be increased as opposed to the storke for maximum revability.

But  for Honda Lately..

I doubt it'll ever come here. How many people are going to buy a $35k Civic?

80% of beyond has to ask their parents for permission to drive the family civic, let alone buy a 35k CTR. Actually, 80% might be a low #..

Currency issues killed the last Si hatch. And we already have our Si Coupe and upcoming si Sedan, so the chance you see this one crossing the pond is close to 0.

if anyone read the article it says that the 2.2 will be a smaller version of the 2.4 from the accord that will make 197hp, same as the Si but probably with more torque. the 225hp engine that deetz mentioned will be available in the civic type RR. as for the looks its super hot

I can see how it may appeal to some, personally it reminds me of the last gen Civic Si(R)....kind of pudgy. I like those rims though.
