Had it done at Trim Line on Monday. I'm glad I did it then too.Today the gravel was flying everywhere !!
:banghead:

They covered the front 12" of the hood and fenders . $160 .
That should protect the car a bit .

And I guess it's just about time to put the summer tires back on.
Maybe I'll wait a few weeks.....This IS Calgary after all..
I put the snows ON last Saturday....

I want the stoneguard too.

Do they have an option for the headlights/foglights and side mirrors? maybe bumper too

That's exactly what I had done on the WRX. Not a single mark on the car.

if they don't have a precut piece to fit it then they can make one that will fit almost as perfect. I hear they do a good job

isnt't that that clear film that looks a little off colour from ur car's colour?

It's a clear film made by 3M .You can see it if you look closely.
It's garranteed not to yellow, and hopefully will stop a lot of the gravel chips .

well, i know a few people who got it, but it looks a distinctly different shade/colour than the original. like on black cars it was like a grey part of the car

You can't tell unless you're up really close to the car.

yea with my 3m on the hood I can see it... also probbaly because of the cut off line where there was wax built up.

You can not see it if its installed properly (expept the line where it stops, but yo can not help that in any way).

Best guy to do 3m rockguard is darren from thompson graphics. If you deal with him, tell him rob from jack cater sent you and he will give you a fair price. he used to work for Stripe Tech, but has started his own bussiness, and he is the only guy we trust to intall the stuff at out place on all the caddys (including the sweet black esclade)

I've had the stoneguard/clearbra installed on my SLK320 and SLK32. I didn't get it done on the SLK230 (bad mistake) and that car looks awful... so many rock chips. Some people really hate it (on my black cars, when you walk up close you can see it on the hood), but IMO it sure beats looking at a black car with white chips all over the damn hood!

For the MINOR visual appeal imparement it sure beats a repaint!

I'm thinking of getting it now...but I already have a fair number of chips on the hood...is it worth it? Should have done it the day I drove off the lot...

Do you need to make an appointment or just show up anytime? Does it take long?

I had my car done and for the hood, fender, and mirrors, it look about 1.5 hours to do. I got mine done at ShadowTint since they have precut kits which don't require them to run a blade across your paint. Well worth it!
