SNEAK PEAK! NEW HONDA FIT IN CALGARY FOR AUTO SHOW 2006! 56k BEWARE

Was at Honda today and what did I see in the Service Drivethru? Two new Honda Fits - the same ones destined for the 2006 Auto Show at the RoundUp Center in a couple weeks!! I guess they had just arrived Saturday morning, hadn't been detailed or PDI'd or anything... FOB!!!

Not exactly my cup of tea, but a pretty neat care none-the-less. Should be a good little commuter. I remember the Mugen one in the 'Automotive News' section was :drool: .

Yeah, they lack a little 'oompf' in the looks dept... kinda like a Matrix crossed with Echo Hatch crossed with Aveo crossed with a Suzuki, but as far as a winter beater or grocery getter - I'd rock it... especially cuz its good on gas and because they are made in JAPAN... I sat in it and lemmie tell you - you could feel the difference in fit and finish (pardon the pun) and quality between this and a Civic. Like sitting in an S-Class and then an ML, you can tell which one was made in North America. I'll save my SiR for weekends and shit, I don't have to have something flashy and sporty just to drive back and forth to work and run errands. My everyday car right now is a rusty old 88 Civic Wagon with a bashed in front door... can't get much worse than that!

I really like all the factory options... the Sport (blue one) has fogs, and MP3 and Aux Input, power windows/doors (I think even side air bags) and skirt package... thats not too bad.

I have some detailed video coverage on the fit right from Japan on one of my Best Motoring video's. It's a very well built car, and actually has a chassis good enough to be souped up with a good amount of power and work well. Spoon even has a company car done by them.

:werd: I've tested the echo hatch and it felt like crap. I didn't like the interior much at all nor the driving position. It'll be interesting to see how the Fit feels.

You need to sit inside a Yaris or a Fit pal. Theses things are anything but cramped. You'd be suprised at how much space they can jam into something so small
