What does everyone think about a 350Z?

I want to get something I can play with, thats fast out of the box, luxurious to a point, not a common car, and handles well in all weather.

Other possibilities were an RSX but understand their being discontinued, New VW GTI, but would like a little more Umph.

I would look for something in your price range, like an old toyota....

not a common car - i wouldn't classify the 350 as UNCOMMON around here :dunno:

handles well in all weather - maybe with winters

other possibilities were an RSX - very common, great car though

Really? i always enjoyed the sharp lines of the 350Z although the 2door G35 is pretty damn sweet, i still like the shape of the 350Z.

You can get a used 350z for the same price as a new RSX, I would definately look into that. "Pinoyhero" is selling one with like 33km on it for 33K...pretty good!

350z is amazing, one of my favorite cars period. if you can afford it i dont think you could go wrog at all with that. and its not common at all compared to an rsx, there are probably 4 or 5 times as many rsx's out there compared to the 350z.

Yeah there are definately a lot of RSX's lurking around these parts.

350Z has a good brutish engine that'll keep you happy. And if you get yourself into a bit of trouble, the traction control and the big Brembos will take care of you (to a degree). Only thing is that the with the convertable, the back window is tiny so it's tempting to drive around ALL the time with out the top. I guess the other downside is that cargo carrying is limited, but if you want to stick kids and groceries in it, you should be driving a minivan :) I find it a bit on the harsh side, so for a more refined ride you may want to consider it's cousin the G35.

Not in coupe form.

I like the 350 but they are not as fast as one may think, stock.

Love the 350Zs. Love the G35 more. Used is the best way to go... drops almost 15k off the sticker for just a few years old.

350Z is not a winter car though. Sure when the roads are clear, knock yourself out, but that thing in the slush and snow is asking for trouble IMO.

Yeah a car like that probably shouldn't be rolling about in the winter.

with winter tires and skill you will have NO problems. If you're missing either of those, you may have a problem haha

Thanks, yeah the G35 would be nice but is it worth the extra what 20K? True bout the convertable, I dont think I would buy the soft top, dont like the look as much anyways. Anyone seen the new G35 the look is smoking, will upload a site if i can find it.

I don't like 350Zs. I used to love em, but I think they're fat. I also hate (most) V6s. They tend to be completely useless...

Just curious, and biased of course, as to why you dislike the 350z's V-6 and V-6's in particular. The numbers posted by the 3.5L are pretty impressive in my opinion.

In winter I have no problem getting around in my 350z, which is equipped with winter tires and salt bags in the back for weight. The only dilemma I have is when the snow gets too deep, that the car becomes a mini-snowplow, a problem I presume many people also share.

I just don't like em. There's just something not right about them. On the V6...well, I know Ferrari's made plenty of V6s. I just think in modern cars they're useless to me. Compact, sure, but that may not be what I want. I think I6s are generally some of the best sounding engines available (old M5s, TVRs, etc) and V8s are right alongside them. They just make more sense to me. I don't think there's been a V6 car produced in the past 20 years I would like to own.

comeon .. how to compare with a ferrari? almost 10 times of money ...

The V6 on 350Z is not a very good one, it is noisy, and not smooth .. however, it is just a $45K car .. give you near 300HP .. not bad!

yeah that's the problem.... not too many people are going to go out and invest in low profile 18-19" winter tires for their 350Z. But shit yeah, anything with the right equipment and a reasonable ride height can work with that little addition of common sense. On Motoring, they took out a porsche with the proper equipment in winter and said it actually handled rather well.

The Nissan 3.5 isn't a good engine?... uhm.. says you. :P

The Z handles probably just as well as any car in the snow with it's ABS, traction control, weight balance. Sure it's RWD so getting going is a bit of pain but when stopping/turning in the winter I'd rather have RWD than FWD.

True about the 18-19's being price prohibitive but I assume that Z owners (and other winter car driving people) will opt for inexpensive 17's with nice high profile winter tires.

Oh one other thing I found with the Z is during heel-toe downshifting, the pedals are a bit far apart for my liking (I've got a "gargantuan" size 9.5 foot). Minor detail but it's handles like a champ.

I'll hold back my comments as Im baised to the positive by far. Only reason I'm getting rid of mine is because I'm after a totaly different type of car, E46 M3.

I just don't like the fact that you have the same engine as a Maxima and even some Altimas. You're paying so much more, you'd think they'd give you a better engine.
