Am trying to change the shift knob in my toyota. Looked for screws on the side of the knob...but no luck. Just wanted some info on how some people removed their shift knob, cause am guess not every car is the same.

If it's an mr2, just screw it off.

Tryed that......the suker is held in pretty tight. Also, where would i be able to get a shift knob in calgary.....someplace that dosen't price it up 200%. Checked out this momo one...retail is 80 or so with shippin, they were sellin it at 120. $40 isn't much but if am buyin it with a shift boot...thats almost $80...i could be spending that on something else...

It should just be a screw on. TRD shift knobs are around $80-$100 at the dealership and between $30-$60 online.

Is yours original or aftermarket? If it;s aftermarket maybe it had the wrong threads or got crossthreaded of something? :dunno:

i bet the previous owner super glued it on...jk
have you tried using anything that would give a little more leverage on it? like...some clamps of some sort?
