Yes, GTA PSP requires 2.00 and as you have noticed some other programs require higher.

I use the PSP for games, so I've upgraded to 2.6, if you are into homebrewing than DO NOT upgrade, you cannot downgrade from 2.6 at this time.

Well, the easiest way is to download it using the wireless capability of the PSP... As mentioned before, it's found in the settings menu. However, a better way of doing it, if you've got access to such a game, is to install the new firmware from the game directly. Newer games like GTA and Armored Core has a feature on the UMD that will allow you to upgrade your firmware. However, that might not be the most up-to-date version, so eventually, you'll need to go to the settings menu to connect via wi-fi. If you still can't figure it out, the owner's manual takes you through this process step-by-step; or, if you don't got the manual, then you can try to google it or go to Sony's website for more details.

you got the other way around

dont really wanna get banned from here so heres wat i can tell you if your main interest with homebrews are classic consoles emu you can go ahead and upgrade though after the upgrade you will need to obtain gtalcs game to play emus

MODS if you feel that this is not appropriate for me to say pls feel free to erase it

Only psp's that have 1.0 - 1.5 firmware are able to run your backed up games

Anyone know how to tell what version of firmware is on the PSP without opening the box? i.e. serial no., etc.
