Hey does anybody know anything about the 92- 96 model preludes. My cousin just bought one, it has a vtec engine, leather seats, fully loaded. It is a 1996 model. I would like to know how much HP this car has. I read on consumer guide that it has only 135 HP, and I thought that was pretty pathetic for a prelude. But it also states that there are different trims. Like the Base, S, Si, 4WD and vtec. My cousin usually gets these cars at the auctions and sell them to me for cheap, usually he does'nt want any money for it, but I don't want to look like a bum so I give money. This car was transported from USA with a clear title. I'm wondering is this car fast/cool enough to be on the road ? And is it a good tuner car ?

Ill get some pics later.

Thanks

it has an h22a engine in their. Probably around the same power as bb6's. So i'd say maybe 195hp. And as for it being cool and fast, to each there own :dunno:

Thanks man, does anybody have any pics of pimped out 92-96 preludes.

Edit : 195 is pretty good I would say, but does'nt the new model preludes come eqiped with that ?

Like ryder said the Vtec model has around 200ish hp...Preludes are more of a luxury then say a Civic, therefore meaning they are heavier. It comes down to personal preference really, I love the way BB2's look. Probably not the best tuner car, based on weight and options but the car has a lot of potential for power.

All of the 97-01 have the h22a...in 92-96, the S had 135hp, the SR 160 and the SRV 195 with the h22a

4WS, not 4WD.

Personally I think the 95-96 SRV's are pretty cool. With some suspension mods they handle quite well and have something that most hondas dont.... Torque.

I thought 95-96's were rated 190, 97-99's were 195 and 00-01's were 200... Not like it's a big difference though - all the same engine, just differences in the maps?

is it possible to change the back tail lights in anyway to make them better ?;)
