He was named to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972.

Why did it take the Canadiens so long to retire his jersey? Lafleur's #10 is already retired, and he came way after Geoffrion.

Man is that ever strange timing too. The thing I liked though is that his former teammates kept stressing that the ceremony for him was a celebration, and not a funeral.:thumbsup:
