A note to add regaurding this car. Its history is simple. 1 accident about 1 month ago garbage truck cracked rear bumper and was replaced. Registration on this car shows as rebuilt. About a year back when Edmonton had the realy bad floods, I drove into some deep ass water sucked up a bunch through the cold air. So basicly the car ranl ike shit. It was taken into a Ford dealer for Diagnostics and they sad motor had to be opened up to check it out. Insurance refused to open it up. I fought for a week to get it opened up for inspection still would not do it. In a nut shell there was a additive put in by Ford (after the car was a write off) to solve the problem. Car had 190psi within 20min and has ran a strong 35000km scince. THE WRITE OFF HAS NOTHING TO DUE WITH PHYSICAL DAMAGE ANY ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM>

So one week ford says the motor will have to be opened up and the next an additive can fix the problem?

So if the car was written off,who got the cash? Was it returned back to normal title after?

Ford saw a valve not closed. Ajuster is not allowed to open up a motor on any car with factory warrenty. Additive/ cleaning broke down carbon build up. Car got written off only because the car must remain with full powertrain warrenty. Ajusters only option at that time was to replace a motor at 14K. Who got the cash?? Why ask? Car can never be returned to active title. I tried to fight with insurance for 6 months after this they handed me my money and said " we are glad to hear it only cost $150.00 to fix, however whats done is done. Dont worry about it keep your cash and have a good day" .

So you got the cash for a written off car and yet you can still sell the car?

Does this make sense? Usually when a car is written off it's not yours anymore.

You can own a writen off car and register it and drive it under so many conditions. Such as if the car was writen off in a case like mine or a theft recovery or minor collison. Now I think you are refering to is a writen off car that becomes salvage. A car that has never had any accident ever can be a write off car.

So you are telling me that I could walk down to the dealership and buy a 25K car and drive it through a puddle. Next thing I know i've got a 22k buyout and 18K from selling the car?

That is 40,000 dollars from 25,000.
