I got this 7-page document from the Subaru Canada rep at the car show last week. Apparently, it's got some details on the STi that's not on the Subaru Canada website.

Worth a look if you're a Scooby fan.

Crap, 1484kg. What I was afraid of. It's even heavier than the massively overweight US Evo 8.

they should've made the Evo to Canadian Standards since our standards are stricter....then it would've made it both US and Canada...jeeez

oooo well guess that means no competition for subie this year :D

The Swedish version is most likely lighter than the Canuck version.

Rep said ballpark $50k. She emphasized that it was her guess, and nothing official....well, that's all she would divulge.

Talked to a guy at mitsu about that, for about an hour. He said they may get them next year...long story..

1455kg. Just 29kg lighter. And not just that, it doesn't have that varible/driver controlled center diff. 265hp and it costs a ton more than the Canadian version. I posted a price comparision between some countries before in this forum. If it only was 1355kg instead. Then it would be something.

Swedish WRX is 1370kg, 29kg lighter than the Canadian version. I think I'd honestly prefer it more.

How come both Swedish Imprezas are exactly 29kg lighter? Some kind of specification error or is it 29kg of sound deadening etc?

I'm guessing it's the Canadian bumpers. Our regulations are quite stringent.

Back in August, I had a rare opportunity to grab one of the first few North American pre-production Lancer Evolution VII/VIII (it's great when your company owns AVSport :thumbsup:). But we were puzzled at how were going to get it into Canada from the US due to impact and emissions regulations. We managed to work out a band-aid solution, but the deal fell through at the last minute. So hence to say, no EVO in my garage.

it has more power/torque because the north american sti's get a larger 2.5L engine where the euro/japan sti's still use the 2.0L. i'm pretty sure the north american sti's has the same 2.5L engine thats used in the twin turbo legacy b4's.

What are you saying? I'm saying this;

It's the same 2.5L engine thats used in the twin turbo legacy b4's, but upgraded internals.
