Not sure about winter, would be interested in it but they do perform very very well compared to other off the shelf type batteries such as Die Hard and Energizer and the liking.

Red Top works for most applications.

only walmart and costco carry it?

I called walmart, they said they carry two types of the redtop. Do they come in different rating or sizes??

I think they're around $140 for the Red Top.

I'm not sure if those costco and walmart one's are the exact same, if you look closely they have a different darker shade of grey on the sides as opposed to the real expensive optimas ~$240, When I was looking for one, I called several battery shops and one guy told me the costco/walmart ones aren't "real" optimas. But you can get yellow/red tops at mopac but they are the expensive ones....

I think I got mine at PartSource, it was one of the DIY-type parts stores, anyway. Red top should be all you neeed unless you deep-cycle with a lot of car audio gear.
I've never had a problem starting the car at any temperature, and there were a couple days when it was -30 or colder.
I'll never own another off the shelf generic battery.
