well its time to get my rust fixed before it gets worse. but my side skirt on the 240sx is basically rusted out on the bottom of the car. like you can see some rust when your standing beside it but when you up your head under there you see how bad it is. Well my question is, Is there any way I can get this repaired or would I have to get new side skirts. plus on 240sx's the panel is very large and isn't just that part of the car. like the side skirt is falling apart when it gets wet now.

You'll want to replace the part if it's to the point of falling apart.

Rust is never really repairable unless you actually cut out the piece that is rusting and replace it with a new piece of sheet metal. Replace the part.

There are temporary fixes for rust, ie sanding it out etc, getting rid of it, while still having exposed metal (if its not completly rusted thru) and then mass bodyfiller...But like Weapon R said...no way to get rid of it...just replace it. Will save you a lot of time, money, and hassel than if you tried to fix the stock part.

well its a really hard piece to replace. If you look at a 240sx from under the door to the back of the part is all the same piece. So replacing the whole side is a little bit of a problem. I will look at prices for the whole side but I think I will pay about $1500 to do it that way. I think I will bring it to a body shop and see what they can do. any reccomendations?

Really? Ahhh, shit, taht sucks...Didn't think it was that bad...I thought u just meant the sideskirt, not like, the quarter panel frame thing...errr, yah...
Still, there is no real cure for something thats rusted through other than to replace it...IMO anyways
Taking it to a few bodyshops would prolly be your best thing, see what they think...cause im just dumb newbie right? so their oppinion would be best for yah...

Even 99% of body shops won't gaurantee rust repair.

Either replace the panel, or fix it temporarily.
