Are there any places in Calgary that "rent" out shop space, with a hoist. Tools not necessary, but a plus so I don't have to lug mine.

Is there someone running this kind of service? If you know of a company...leave the contact info or at least a business name and I'll look it up.

i think this has been discussed before, and this place was mentioned:

U-Wrench
1420 40 Avenue Northeast 5, Calgary, AB T2E6L1

I did a search, but was unable to locate. I guess I was searching wrong stuff. <smile>

Anyhow, I'll give them a call.

Ok, I just phoned them.

Seems like a reasonable deal. The owner has apparently sold the place - but it sounds like it will continue to operate pretty much as is under the new owners.

Thanks for the info. :)

It's pretty reasonable. $14.50/hr.

You take your vehicle. They provide the tools and the space and you work on your own car. Works great if you don't have all the tools to complete your project, or ... if you need a hoist ... etc.

You get charged an hourly rate to work on your project.

I need a hoist! ;)

I believe there's also one in Inglewood.

It's called U-Fix-It or something like that.

^^ yep, there is...somewhere down in Inglewood. I needed to install my rear sway, and it was around $12 to rent the hoist and use their tools. Pretty awesome.

I heard that U-Fix-It closed their doors...
They were better than u-wrench ;)

Is there a minimum charge? I need to adjust the e-brake on my car and would like a hoist to do it but I'm broke and it'll take me half an hour tops.
Good to know there's a couple places around.
