Haha no but I'm assuming that's what they want people to think.

I hope its a black 1984 civic.

+

mph
=102km/h in a 50km/h zone, likely a residential one.

So, uh, unless going 2x the speed limit in an area that's obviously at least semi-residential is "not even that bad"... is your name dany heatley by chance =P

HINT TIME:The Gift outside the box has 4 wheels.... Was Made in Asia..... Is Black

Ummmm ok... I think we can see that the car parked on the driveway is black and has four wheels.

Seems like a scam to me. It's never said clearly that there is a car in the garage.

The dad bought it for the kid, I doubt it's in her name. I think the father would be a little pissed if the mother sold the car he bought for $400.

Nova316
03-26-2006, 02:32 AM
Well it had to of gone 64mph
Maybe a go-kart falling off a cliff :)
I doubt it was a civic for 500$
unless it was like a 1980's

Anton
03-26-2006, 12:07 PM
She only ever says that what she's selling is "his favorite birthday present"...that doesn't mean that it was his car...

Although I am tempted to bid :nut:

Also

something he has wanted soooooo bad...

I don't think a mother types like that hahaha.

Now for all the "legal" stuff. As per Ebay Mystery Auction rules: You are bidding on a Box with a Set Of Keys inside. Anything outside the box that I send is my gift to you

Doesn't need to send you the car even

This reminds me of the family guy episode where Peter can get a free motor boat, or whatever is in the mystery box. He picks the mystery box and it's a coupon or something like that I forget hahaha.

What about the house? Doesn't seem like an overly nice house from the small amount I can see.. Not "buy your kid a "sportcar" for their 16th" type of nice anyways..... :dunno:

mhmhm, back rims on the car look photoshopped, the reflectioni n the black car ont he drveway shows Im guessing 3 garage doors, not 2.

Although its just like the EBay auction of the guy cheated on his wife and got busted, sold his brand new M3 for like $600 or something.

It was a Lotus Esprit V8, and she sold it for one British pound. So, about $2.20.

There was more then likely more then one "husband cheated on wife so she sold his car" sale on ebay.

Never know, story could be fake. I mean, if the person took a cardboard box from a Sony TV, stuck 4 wheels on it, glued a lock to it, and made all this last year, then it would qualify, wouldn't it? Heck, they could've rolled it down a hill with a school zone and clocked it. I'll be skeptical for now... It's not even listed under eBay motors.

My bet is the civic... there's no production model 2005 Celica... But yea... It's either a civic or a r/c car... made in 2005 lol... really curious now.

When i saw that picture I was very suspicious about the car in the driveway. To me that looks like a Alfa 156 GTA judging by the rear door handles, mirros, and sidemarker. If thats the case, the car isnt in the USA as new Alfas arent sold or imported (as I know of) to the USA.

Pic for comparision:

haha, I absolutly adore the new Alfa's, when I went to Asia last year I saw one first hand beautiful, beautiful cars. Those cars have very disctive styling cues so if you want to scam someone dont use an Alfa!

I emailed the "mother" from ebay to find out what was going on with the car in her drive way being from europe and the 3 door garage reflected in the cars paint and this was what I got as a reply:

Sorry for the delay... I am trying my best to get all ... or at least many of the email I have gotten answered. I did not know this was going to get the notice it has.

The House is actualy in Germany. It belongs to my brother.

As a single woman I did not feel safe posting a picture of my house on the internet.

Of course the picture has nothing to do with the auction. I was just looking for a picture of a closed garage door.

As the the 'reflection'... I just have no idea what you are talking about

dieselpower91
03-29-2006, 02:47 PM
Look closer at pics.. I don't think its a 3-car garage.. those lines are the where the door opens! :nut:

ewll at least its 'newer'

"Q: Do you have the 'clear' right to give the item? And can you give another hint as to what the gift outside the box is?
Mar-26-06
A: Yes I do. Yes I can.. Last Hint: It was manufactured in 2005."

This is a "I got money to burn bid" anyone who woudl miss the 11k it's up to now if they indeed got scammed, shouldn't be bidding on it. But who knows, there actually are some honest people left... she may be legit, even though statistically the winner should get hosed, but you never know. It's a clever auction either way.

03-29-2006, 06:26 PM
Has anyone mentioned yet that it's a 2005 model Asian car? There's too many posts to read through.

I'm guessing a Hyundai Tiburon...but that's not a sports car so if I won the auction I'd kill that lying bitch.

03-29-2006, 06:35 PM
Someone with a little money should put a moderately expensive car on there, like an S2K, for a similar mystery deal. Hopefully someone will buy it for a massive discount. Then, once that gains a bunch of publicity, they should sell off like 8 K-cars under a similar deal, with the reputation of 'guy who sold the S2K for pennies'. If you had cash to burn, it'd be funny to see how much you would make. And we all know some people just like 'deals'.

Hey there's was one of those Alfas driving around Calgary last year. We followed it going up Nosehill Dr. by Crowfoot. It was a diplomats car (at least that's what I assume) since it still had European plates on it. Sweet car though. I love how the door handle is incorporated into the window trim, a la NSX/FD.
