once you install... its updates for 4 hours... my buddy showed me it... its actually not too bad

it used to be awesome.

essentially picture unreal tournament 2k4 but massive online style. like we're talking about hundreds of people in vehicles attacking different strongholds.

was bloody brilliant spectacle in its prime.

only problem was with lag it would make some of the combat sluggish

Gen2: yes.

I played for a good year (New Conglomerate 4tw!) before I cancelled out of PlanetSide due to lack of funds... but while I did play, it was intense. Continent wide battles, as well as hours of tactical fighting over key areas of the world... it was fun, I may get back in just to have a go at it again :D

:rofl: I guess that last pic might lead a newbie to believe it's an RTS. That shot is actually taken from a pilot looking down on a raid staging point.

Vagabond is 100% correct. The game is incredibly intense, due to the amount of people playing. It looks like there's alot of people in that picture, but that's actually quite a small amount. In an average fight there's probably 300 people fighting over a stronghold.

sorta sucks with the population that died off that its hard to find those big fights now :(
