This post is for my brother. He is selling his 98 Jetta. Here it is:

F/S – 1998 Jetta: 2.0L-Supercharged

This car has been my child for the last 3 years. It absolutely breaks my heart to have to see her go, but it has to be done. To say that the Jetta has been an absolutely solid vehicle is an understatement. You have to drive it to understand.

The Jetta has seen one full winter and 3 months of this years' winter (Dec, Jan, and Feb), otherwise only summer driving and garage storage. She has just over 114,000km on her.

NEW PRICE. I am asking $10,500 for her. Please understand what has been done to this vehicle, how its been maintained and the low kms:

-Neuspeed P-Chip
-Neuspeed high-altitude pulley (2.6”)
-K&N flat panel air filter

summer but sold them last summer)

just talked to my bro, its 135hp to the wheels and 143lb-ft. About the same as a VR6, but much smoother.

yes that's a 30-40 whp increase. just to compare. a basic street SC kit for a K20 engine adds 40-50 whp. So why so surprised?

For the owner. Any way to further tune this engine when pullies are upgraded?

Understand that because a s/c is belt driven, if it is "rated" for 100hp increase (for example), 30, 40 and sometimes even 50% of that is used to power the belts. Therefore your actual increase in horsepower becomes, like the man said, 30-40hp.

This car was dynoed originally at 90hp to the wheels and 113lb-ft of torque. Which means an increase of 45hp and 30lb-ft of torque. Which is considerable compared to stock.

Now if you're looking for a car that you can take to "secret street" and expect to 12's or 13's, this is not it.

If however, you're looking for a wicked little daily/highway driver that's 100% more reliable than any backyard/home-made turbo project, then this Jetta might be it.

Just a little clarity.

I've already upgraded to the Neuspeed high-alt pulley and that definitely helped. Other than new headers, I think the only thing that might work to increase the hp on this engine is a beefing up the bottom end. Which I'm sure would take some work! After thats done, maybe reprogramming the chip to run with the new mods.

I'm actually not sure of any other ways to up the juice.
