yeah, generally it takes a couple hours, sometimes longer depending what kinda work was done and how much they used.

Stupid question, but why can't you eat?...
I've eaten with my mouth still half-frozen before.

For the most part, you'll start to feel a little bit after about 30 minutes, with the effect being completely gone after 4-5 hours.

I thought it was dangerous to eat too because you can bite your own tongue off? :dunno:

Freezing will thaw.. better to give it time since you'll feel pain once it thaws.. or even worse it thawing earlier.

Thawing isn't the word, it's the drugs wearing out.

I ate as soon as I got home from my filling, bit down pretty hard on my tongue. It was a good decision to take a break until the feeling came back.

this is kinda funny...i just got a filling and a wisdom tooth ripped out today. I got frozen around 10:30 and I am now completely thawed out. I just eat yogurt when its frozen. No need to worry about biting your tongue.

^^ aren't you still bleeding from wisdom tooth being extracted?

I recall you bleed for hours, and some a day!

getting your wisdom teeth out sucks , the freezing for mine started wearing off at 45 min and took about 2 hours before completely being done. yougurt would be your best bet, as said before.
