No matter what car you get, buy used. saying you have a new car is not worth the massive depreciation in value you get as soon as you drive it off the lot. lease returns are a good way to get a nice car for a good price, they typically have low mileage too.

SUV RX300/QX4 (early 2000), Pathfinder, 4 Runner
Sedan: Maxima (earlier 2000 better bang for your buck), I30, maybe even a Q45 (those go reletively cheap these days), ES300, Acura TL

I think the best 4Runner you can buy is a Toyota 4Runner. Nothing comes close for reliability, quality, and resale value.

Um .. for the price ..

I will suggest QX4 ( 99-2000 model should be around or under $20K )

4 Runner is nice .. but if you buy the Limited, with even less options then QX4 .. they are even more expensive!

or pathfinder ( 01-02 ) ..

CRV RAV4 .. but .. I don't like them ..

For car .. up to $20k .. 01-02 TL will be nice ..

Accord / Camry are good too .. but for used one, TL/ES are not much more .. so I will suggest TL/ES if you like Accord/Camry

If you like Luxury .. 99/00 E class or 99-01 3 series are around $20K too .. :)

If he's looking for a 99-2003 TL, make sure you pay attention to the tranmission. Honda Canada extended the warranties on certain transmissions because they are prone to failure. Everyone I know with a TL has had to have their transmission replaced prematurely.

Um .. Actually .. we may want to sell our Mint QX4 .. with only 115K on it ..

Since summer is slready here .. no more snow ( I assume ) and we just finished our moving .. we don't need an SUV at this time .. :dunno:

hmm is that from experience...lol sorry just had to go there...but yeah he is right if you go the the TL make sure they have done the Tranny recall on it. and if not take it in the be done right away do not wait till it starts to go. It is free
