Just out of curiousity...

Does anyone know how long it takes to drive across Canada? From here to, I dunno, Toronto? At a leisurely pace, not exactly plowing through twice the speed limit and driving all night sort of thing.

just find the distance between calgary and toronto on a map website, and think about how much driving you would be willing to do daily, and calculate your ETA from there..

Yeah, the thing is I don't know what route I'd want to take just yet. I just came up with an idea for a photo trip sometime next year where I'd take two weeks off, rent a car and drive across Canada, hitting up a bunch of old ghost towns and beat ass places, some major cities, and end up in Toronto where I'd screw around for a couple days before flying home. Think of it as a cross-Canada urban exploration trip.

I was curious how long a normal trip would be and plan around it.

When you say "Across Canada", you do know Canada goes farther than Toronto Right? :D...so you should go farther, some really nice scenery in the maritimes....because last time i checked Toronto was actually the "Center of Canada", and the rest of us just revolve around them:dunno:

Cover of Maclean's magazine recently read "Get over it Toronto, Calgary is the new center of the universe!"
