Just looking for the best deep dish pizza around. The old owner at Chicago deep dish in edgemont made amazing deep dish pizza with an inch of toppings. But that was years ago. The current owner it’s all bread and no toppings. So does anyone know of a great deep dish pizza place with loaded toppings?

Fuck the deep dish stuff, goto CPU (canadian pizza unlimited) in Deerrun. Best damn pizza, super cheap, and unlimited toppings. They got every topping you can think of, and always has good specials, etc.

Just an example, last time we ordered a 18" verns special(not even the heaviest toppings pizza they make) 5 of us couldn't finish it. Most people can eat 2 maybe 3 pieces max. And unlike chicago deep dish, it actually tastes good too.

:barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: I'd rather have a good quality tasting pizza, than have unlimited toppings that taste like ass, and plus seems like all the CPU places I've seen are run by East Indians, and not to be racist or anything but East Indians dont know jack about pizza..sorry

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't one a nationality/ethnicity, while the other a religion?:dunno:

Either way...any good deep dishes downtown?

You've obviously never had Supreme Pizza in the NE.
To the best of my knowledge its run by East Indians, and its the best pizza place in Calgary that I've been to.

For big pizzas, verns gets my win, but I hardly ever eat that kind (I'm about the thin crust shite) but yeah, verns is good...good deal too.

HAH! calgary knows fuck all about pizza

the only places half decent are (in order of preference)

1. sandro's
2. il centro

pizza bob's and tom's house of pizza are not nearly as good but at least they're not the cheap ass arab style

Try Sammy's by Humpty's on South Macleod Tr by Fish Creek LRT station.

Their Donair pizza is to die for! Omfg good shizzit its truly an original unlike the ordinary pepperoni pizza crap. Their Taco pizza is pretty wicked too (ground beef over chicken imho)

Vern's aight its huge allright but the meat they use is low quality full of nitrates. I'd only eat from there when the flames r playing!

You bash Verns and say Sammy's is quality? I had it once, and it was sick. The chicken they use is awful, the pepperoni is just large slabs of some unknown sausage, and the crust doesn't taste good either. :barf: And the donair pizza isn't that original, almost any place that sells donairs and pizzas has a donair pizza.

Vern's is over rated. Just because it's heavy and loads of toppings does'nt make it good IMO.

I have yet to find a real good pizza here. At the same time I don't mind the hot N ready's from little ceasers...It's simple, cheap and fast.

Yah the pizza places in Calgary are lacking. Some of the best I've had is Al's Pizza in Ranchlands....not too shabby.

The ABSOLUTE BEST pizza is from Gateway Pizza in Surrey. The tandoori chicken pizza is AMAZING!
