Saw the new Porsche Cayenne today on 17th Ave. Didn't know they sold them yet, looked awesome!

Didn't think it was the Cayenne at first. I didn't even know they had any for sale yet. I was hoping to see one at the Car Show this year, so didn't expect to see some on the roads for awhile.

Looked like a Mini Cooper on a truck platform at first with Porsche headlights :)

can't wait to see one on the road, seen many pics in magazines but I want to see whether it actually looks good or not

I drove the Cayenne S around town last night. The brakes are amazing, no body roll, it's like driving a car. Pretty impressive stuff.

Porsche Had their official releace here in calgary this Thurs/fri/sat.

Something about a TT V8 in a SUV that will run cirles around most cars is pretty awe inspiring...(in their 'Turbo' model)

450hp, 460 tq, Track speed of 160MPH and 0-62 in 5.6s.
the S is something like 340hp.

i like the rear of the cayenne. The front is ugly. It's just like a carerra GT with an extended bumper.

It was weird, nobody knew of the car, nobody gawked at all. But yea, 340hp, it feels slower then the ML55 (349hp), but hey, the S/C S2K felt slower than the SLK 32 and look what happened :D.

The thing handles like a car though. The slalom test, like virtually no body roll. I was driving like 4/10ths in that thing (well it wasn't MY cayenne heh) cuz I thought it handled like a SUV, but it really handles like a car.

Kinda odd that I'm praising an SUV... heh.

Yeah, I got to go to their unveiling on Wednesday night. Sweet ride... I was hoping that we could drive them, but no dice.

Man, I felt like a child. everyone there was like mid to late forties and up. Some dude and his wife have had a deposit on one for 4 years now. I hope he got the turbo. I read somewhere that the S was disappointing and that the hp wasn't like they said it was... the turbo.. that is another story.

The turbo has some funky light system that works with navigation to actually point where you are going. If you turn right, so do the lights so that they light up the road.

Cool stuff

Maybe you're just gettin' old, soccer mom! :D

How much are they supposed to run for?

haha no doubt. The one I drove had the optional 20's or something, and was stickered at $92k. Mikko would LOVE this thing, performs well on and off "tarmac" crap  Plus he wouldn't mind the ugly looks, cuz looks doesn't count!

Oh but the ride height...thats crucial, and the waste of Leather and its heavy weight. :D

funny that the cayenne received such lukewarm attention a few years ago.

It's a lot bigger than in pictures. I thought it was about the size of an Outback (I was wrong hehe). Here's the Cayenne beside my boat :

Cool stuff Rage. I had a dark blue Cayenne S following me for a little while on Thursday down Deerfoot... he was driving mellow. Saw a silver one the next day, not sure which model because I didn't get behind that one.

I wasn't driving mellow

I drove that thing like a car (well like a SUV in the corners), and the owner still bitched at me for babying it!
