Oh yea boys and girls. If you want in on track days there a few new rules for the newbies on the track and payment related info.

Get some $$$ together soon. Tack days could start really soon late April, early May.

I am somewhat interested......what speeds do you guys get upto on the track?

If you are a beginner, will there be a instructor for the first few laps?

There was 3 classes last year beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

In beginner they spread you apart quite a bit so you'll nver be close to another car.

Speeds? Well I reached 187km on the strait away, but I stopped earlier than the braking marker. Fuji's was saying to me in the car "you can still go faster, brake later there", but I was not 100% comfortable with my car then as the swap was just completed a week or 2 before.

I'm not sure if there will be any instructors, I was talking to Fuji he was saying they are trying to bring the costs down, but someone will be able to show you the inital ropes. Once it's expalined, it's pretty easy. The idea is simple I can ride with you if you want, or you can ride with me.....no worries.

This time my hot pipe will not fall off!

You need a road worthy car, and a helmet.

Ben

I think rage2 in his porsche hit 240 (239) at the end of the strait once.

Kenny hit 215ish I think with my fat ass in the car.

Its all car dependant. My car would probably only hit 170 by the end of the strait, but would have good exit speed on corners.

how much is it going to be anyways? how long? do drivers take turns around the track or all at once?

buh_buh
03-25-2003, 02:50 AM
last year it was about $200 a person. But it may be cheaper this year for members since all the advertising money is going towards trackdays and bbq's for beyond members. But usually the group of 24 is separated into 3 groups (beginner, intermediate, advanced), and one group runs at a time, usually for 10-15 minute sessions.

Rules I imagine would be something to the effect:
Not official

95 Snell approved Helment
Proper seatbelts
(If harness must be DOT or FIA or SFI spec. Correct install required)

Passengers must be approved by Organizer.

Rookies:
Must have instructor approval

Vehical must pass inspection by the Chief Mechanic.

Entrance speed to RCMP:is 10 kmh
Pit Speed: 5 kmh or slower
No burnouts (this is not a drag race)

On Track:
No Passing on corners
No fender racing

This is a Test/ Practice - There is no prize for being first.
Drivers are to be courteous on the track.

Let experience driver pass (no point holding a better driver in a slower car)

Let faster vehicles pass

Passing:
Front Straight only to the left of the vehicle.
Back Straight to the right of the vehicle

Don't forget no passing on cool down lap!......Unless you have an RSX then I guess it's ok......hehehehehe....(inside joke).:burnout: ;)

Let's put it this way. The price WILL be $200 from our current situation. The advertising money will be used in the track day, but rates as I have been told are supposed to rise a bit. Also we didn't get a lot of $$$ from the ads...

All of the newbies are going to have to talk to me first, then take a 1.5hr course with one of the instructors prior to the actual track day. I will keep you posted.

The rason is that it is safer, becomes cheaper for the general population, you WILL learn something and the downtime in the track day oges down huge, so we will benefit by gaining about 30-45min of actual on the track time that we usually lose to teaching the new guys the ropes.
