if you are worried about is crapping out within the first year, get them to install, if not install yourself, hardest part is to mount the ballast!

I had a problem with mine as well, but I went back and got a new one without any problems.

All these "kits"... are they proper projector retrofits? or are these HIDs in the halogen reflector?

is HID world prices in CDN or US dollars ?

i think american, but with the exchange rate being so good now, the difference would be insignificant

Yes, I am also curious about the install that they do. Do they install with a projector or just into the halogen reflector housing?

My guess is that they are going to install them into whatever you are giving them. Nobody is going to do retrofits for $80...that would be like giving away good crack cocaine for free.

Your car has projectors..fine...your HID's will be in projectors..duh.

I just thought that paying 500+ projectors might be thrown in there also
i guess not haha

drop in kits suck ass, and blind everyone on the road, regardless of the great price and warranty. Do it right.

Check out hidplanet.com for info and customlightz.com for actual retrofits.

suck ass? really.....so its not worth the switch over to the kit....? is there really that big of a difference?

I woudln't say they suck ass, kinda of an exaggeration. But you won't get that clean cut off you see on Tsx's, s2000s, etc. You would also produce a lot of glare to oncoming traffic.

Granted retrofits are double the price (or more, depending on where you get your projectors from), but imo its just better to get it done right.

customlightz.com is probably the best place i've seen for true retrofits.

Now im' not saying speedtech sells bad products or anything. In general an HID kit is far inferior to a retrofit. If speedtech sells retrofits I would surely be interested.

I checked out the site, after Duty and Brokeage fee you are looking at about $430-450 CAD for a 6000K but if u need warranty it will be a hassle. For our HID kit we provide 1 year warranty no question ask and more important most of the time when u need warranty we have the parts in stock to replace it right away and free labor for warranty parts!

P.S: also more important our kit is in the same price range anyway

I've bought 2 sets of lo-beam HID's from STRD for 2 diff. cars, in the last couple years. The first set was good, but the 2nd set needed some warranty replacements. They didn't hesitate to switch the parts over, didn't ask any questions, and had ALL the parts in stock. I think I'll even go and pickup the new HELIOS Hi/Lo bulbs for my one car:thumbsup:
