Cancelling a contract

I know a few of you work at gym's, but Im just curious as what to do if you need to cancel a contract. Is there some type of pay out a person has to pay ? Im getting behind my bills and I can barely afford food for myself, yet a gym membership :(

Depends on the gym. At Gold's, you must write a letter and MAIL it into the gym (can not drop it off) and you will be charged a $199 cancellation fee. Most gym's are around there.

Try selling your membership or transfering it to someone.

Oo I had this problem w/ WHC.
There is no cancellation fee, you have the pay out the rest of your contract/month.
When I tried to cancel they told me I had to pay ~600... mind you this was about a year and a half ago, maybe they changed it (I had about 10 months left and each month was around 60 bux).
