ock'n'dough is a traditional wellingborough recipe going back to saxon times.

get a good sized baking tin..fry some mince beef in a pan..when fried mix in fresh herbs.

using shortcrust pastry make a large "sausage roll"using the beef/herbs as a filling. put the filled pastry around the side of the baking tin.

using a good beef stock fill up the centre of the tin and add seasonal veg(par cooked)

place into a hot oven..about 200..for 1.5hours..topping up stock as needed.

serve with jacket spuds

my wife cooks this to a t in the winter time...bloody gorgeous:love:

wifey just cooked it again today but useed braising steak..topnotch..you guys should really try this.


any local recipies from canada i can try??
