Lethbridge Fitness club is $499 a year for "regular people," $299 if you are a student.

Sometimes they offer a promotion for students for $200 a year (rate I got). Plus it's a really nice gym, not too busy and lots of new equipment. I've only had to wait for equip a handfull of times.

Highly recommend.

Be cool like me and get a membership for the YMCA. Here in the Hat it was only like 235$ for a student. I would only assume it would be close to the same for lethbridge

I think our Y is a bit of an exception. Everyone I talk to from Lethbridge or Calgary always questions me when I tell 'em I have a membership there

The lethbridge Y is not so bad in the mornings, its mostly some retired regulars that know how to share the equipment. I used it steady when I worked nightshifts and it was pretty quiet all the time.

However, I hated the place in the evenings, it only takes about 6-8 testosterone pumped people to tie up the equipment. It's a younger crowd and they are very ignorant to strangers.

The university has a nice facility and the people are actually friendly than most places. I had bad form with my squats and one of the guys just came up to me, and spent about 10 minutes teaching me the correct form.

I don't know the name of the place over by the GM dealer, it's probably changed names a few times since the last time I was there. It was pretty good, but it seems to have alot of die hards there, and I never felt completely welcomed. that was 4-5 years ago, so its probably changed, hopefully for the better.

There's also a place downtown, right? I don't know anything about it.
