It's that time of the year again, the V8Less SC Challenge. What a great way to start the year off. Enter as a team to try to win the trophy! The judging will be done like last year, Show points and Go points (doesn't have to be the same cars of course). 1/4 mile racing, soundoffs, showoff and more!

Beyond.ca will be up there as a team, everyone is welcome to compete on our team. Post here if you're interested :D.

Here's the flyers. For more information, check out the V8Less.com Events Section (http://www.v8less.com/events/SCC01/index.html)!

Another reason is because Race City has been less than welcoming of people renting out their track for events such as this. Due to the difficulties in securing Race City as a venue, they have no where else to go but up near Edmonton!

most of the cars are probably not from southern alberta. At most it'll be about 50-50. Plus, its like 15 min's from edmonton, that is 15 mins less to drive ;) . Hope to see yall there.

Would like to enter, but strictly for the QM..

Its nice cause its not based on fastest, but based on getting the closest without breaking out.

The soundoff is gonna be pretty cool from what I understand...it's open to any car that wants to enter, and they're gonna do the typical testing inside the car, then they're gonna do a street test...u drive your car infront of the crowd and they test the levels outside too...nice little spin to get the crowd involved :)

What are some typical numbers people hit. I don't want to go and make an ass out of myself. I hit just of 140db's with 2 subs so thats street class, or something like that. Is that comparable or is their no point in me entering.

140 isn't bad!

My buddy in his corrado hit 146 I believe, most people were in the 120-130 range.

A few were in the 160's but with specially made vehicles with 1" glass and concrete doors.

Edmonton is a good track, especially for us edmonton boyz and the etown crew that puts the show on :)

So bring everybody up North, like somebody mentioned it's just a great excuse for a large group cruise :) Racers, shownshiners, sound off ppl, and spectators :) I'm sure you ppl all drive the speedlimit, and 2 hours is out of the question for arrival time.... :)

If you wanna watch, bring anything u want (it just sits in the parking area). It's just if you compete they want something that's "v8less" (hense the community name) Its geared towards imports but some doms are welcome. :D

from spruce grove to calgary is almost exactly 3 hours. From the south side of E-town to calgary is about 2.5 hours. @ 2 hours, your looking at some fast speeds.

You'll do fine man. I went last year and a lot of cars rolled through. Someone hit a 173.6 or something last year and it was a new record. Lots of people were in teh 130's and 140's too...just checking to see what they'd hit. I'm not sure how they were dividing up the classes or anything, it was sooo cold there that I didnt' really investigate too much haha. We'll have to go up this year!

Rules are IHRA as far as safety goes. Helmet and pants mandatory, NO SHORTS. Quicker than 11.49 or faster than 115 in the 1320 and you need a rollbar. Convertible's need a rollbar when quicker than 13.99 I BELIEVE.

I herd that v8 cars are included!! check out the site www.v8less.com

redbaron303

OEM factory equipped v8 cars are NOT allowed to race... this being American muscle or an american ride w/ a V8 in it.... V8s are allowed for sound off though!

There is a miata in Etown w/ a 5.0L Cobra mustang engine that's supercharged... and some datsun Z cars w/ v8's in them that we'll let race because they were originally non oem v8s... :)

If you have a lexus, ferrari, something exotic w/ a v8 and it's sporty/compact v8less may make an exception for you to race... come on, who wouldn't want to see some guy beat the hell out of dads lexus ls430 against a modded civic :)

If you have any further questions as to whether your car is able to run in the event please post under this forum on v8less.com

Hopefully some of these sites help you... and we hope to see you up in Edmonton even if you decide you aren't going to run you're car... :) Come on up and enjoy the day, crowd, and event :)
