Well after talking to a few people of what they were doing for the summer, one of my friends said he was thinking about doing spring/summer courses. Whatever right  .

He later goes on to tell me that spring/summer courses do not count towards your overall GPA but you still are awarded course credit. Is he lieing out his ass or is this a way to bypass more difficult courses?

The only thing I can think of is when they go to look for prerequisites, you get denied for your grades being low cuz you don't even care about what you get.

Anyone want to shed some light on this matter?

i dont think your friend is correct.

The only thing I know of that sounds similar is that, say at U of C... your spring courses count towards Haskayne entrance (3rd year), yet your summer don't.

but all classes get added into your GPA... mine did.

he is correct. although some classes depending on your faculty are required to be completed in either fall or winter. but for options or even english classes, doing them in the spring or summer will not count towards your gpa. but u will get credit for them
