For a few restaurants. You might want to suggest a price range, and what kind of food you might be interested in.

I hear ya, I was a little vague -- thats the problem.
Group I am going with are not wanting: japanese, thai, chinese, indian, greek, korean, mexican or italian. So I am thinking french, something gourmet'ish.
Price range isn't really an issue.

OK, no ethnic food then.
Off the top of my head, there is Hardware Grill, Jack's Grill, and Character's. Not French, but definitely "gourmetish". Expect to pay over $50 per person before alcohol.

Had a great time in Edmonton (other than the Oilers winning and the Canucks losing).
Tried the following restaurants:
Mikado, Century Grill, Joey's Grill and Sorrentino's -- great experience / food at each one.
Big thumbs up to food in Edmonton.

Wine list was so so but the service was great, as was the food -- I had the 16oz ribeye, it was beautiful.

Ric's Grill
The Moose Factory
Both are "steak" places
(I highly recommend the Prime Rib @ Ric's Grill....WOW)
I ate at the Hardware Grill last time I was there, damn good but damn expensive.
