Rent question

Got a question about rent. If my rent is $900 / month and I pay it on April 1. Does that $900 cover April 1 to April 30 or Mar 1 to Mar 31 (assuming I lived there in Mar)?

I just want to make sure I understand what time period my rent is covering (time in advance or time used).

It covers Apr1-30. You pre-pay in 99.99% of the cases. During your first payment, you would have paid rent for first month + damage deposit.
