What are your reasons you would rather play Ducks vs Avs?

I hope it's Colorado. IMO I think we would win a series against either, but I really like Anaheim so I don't want to see them gone after the first round.

Anaheim has been better than colorado down the stretch as well, though they've slipped up a couple times especially against Calgary.

I think no matter which of the 2 we played we would win the series 4-2, though there's no way to prove this unless we end up playing them both during these playoffs.

I hope we play ANA... we seems to be pretty good at shuting down the Selanne line, and ANA has a hard time matching our phyiscal play.

ANA as well because the AVS are my favorite team! :D

Colorado would be a tougher team to play in the playoff IMO. They have too many big name scorers that scare me. Altought we could probably light Theodore up lol.

I want to play the Ducks.

They used to be my favorite team, then Roy left, hopefully Theodore gets back into form though so they will have a great team again. I'd like to see them challenge for the cup again. Too bad Forsberg is gone and Drury too, though the Avs seem to still have the scoring touch.

The Ducks aren't that hot right now, they went on a tear in March and early April winning 13/17, but since they clinched a playoff spot they have gone 2/6.

While I don't think Detroit is as good as they've been in past years, I do think they will eliminate the oilers quite easily, however if they do beat Detroit I will be happily surprised.

What was the record between Edmonton and Calgary this year?

Well if Anaheim wins tonight they clinch 6th place so tonight could be a preview of the first round.

Think they would do find against any team they played in the first round be it Anaheim or Colorado since the Flames have home ice in the first round anyway. If they can get out to two quick home wins that's good momentum.

I read on TSN that Hasek won't be ready to go for the playoffs yet either. Wonder if we'll see a typical Ottawa post season....amazing during the year and then early exit in the post season. I doubt it but never know the way the playoffs work.

Personally, I really hope we play Anaheim, for the main reason that Getlzlaf is on the team, and all my Regina friends that we all grew up with will come to town and get their party on, and I guess since he played here in Calgary in the WHL he'll have some more fans/friends here too... that's my only reasoning behind me wanting them to play Anaheim. That and I'm getting a place 1/2 block from the Red Mile and I'm pretty pumped about how close it is gonna be!

You might be eating those words if the Flames go to the Stanley Cup final again!

A friend of mine moved to 16th Ave right behind the McDonalds just before the playoffs started last time. Loved it when it first started and when he didn't have to work in the morning but hated it when he did have to work the next morning!

Detroit now has gotten at least one point in their last 20 games.
Edmonton looks to be screwed.

San Jose.

But yeah I prefer Anaheim. They have cooled down as of late and they don't have as many potent scorers as the Avs. Plus with Theodore it's kind of a toss up of which one will show up to play. Although I guess the same applies to Giguere. I still say Flames in 6.

Flames in 5. Ducks don't stand a chance. :goflames:

In the good old days of NHL hockey I'd agree with flames downing ducks.

I just watched the last game tonight against the ducks and all I can say is the refereeing was horribly one sided.

I think the NHL has an agenda and I don't think Canadian teams are much of a priority.

Last stanley cup finals were pretty bad, this set will be worse.
