This is going to turn into my weekly rant thread about my car. :)

I've spent the past two w eeks buying part after part collecting all necessary materials and objects to turbo my s12.

I am so close, but I have a feeling that something is gonna go wrong/not work.

I need a downpipe, a better BOV, I would like to have a boost controller and I need a RRFPR.

I was hoping to be ready for tonights races @ race city to see what kinds of times mycar would get, but I think that may be happening next week......or maybe the week after??

At anyrate, I bought some sweet ass tremclad satin/flat black paint, loaded up my spray gun and my compressor, went out and sprayed my car. I painted everything. I got so eager with the gun......I have over spray to clean up on the windows (Very easy to do with paint thinners + steel wool) and I painted the wheels, and all the trim black, and the door jams.

IMHo it looks amazing. Compared to a can, well there is no comparison.

I've painted cars flat black with a can before and they never turn out that great. There are light spots all over and lots of clouding because of the aerosol spraying ont he car instead of paint when the can gets low. The paint gun did such a better job. I'm thinking of some sort of 2 tone paint job, but I haven't quite decided what kind of color scheme to go with. Anybody have suggestions?

anyway back to work, :whocares: :goflames:

Here are some pictures of the beast. I have a couple spots of blue left over that I'll be taking care of today :)

Here is a picture of my 80% finished body work. I looked at the fender/wheel well.....the metal was gone. It was rust through and through, so I took out my fibreglass, and I went and created the panel arch, then applied some bondo over top. I still have to fill in the holes and smooth it all out.

werd man you're car is looking good. isn't this the 'free' car you got a while back?

and how did you paint it yourself..? do you have a makeshift booth or did you just paint it in your garage? it'll be nice to see this thing in action.
what kind turbo are you installing?

I find razor blades do a great job of getting rid of overspray. I just hate the thought of steel wool on anything other than metal parts.

And i will beg to differ on the statement "compared to a can, well there is no comparison" I would be able to show you many many trucks rollin around with p.jobs that you couldnt tell wether they were rattle can or spray.

I've painted alot with a can, and by the time you get to the last 1/4 of the can I notice light spots (only with flat black or black primer!).

Regular paint colors usually turn out fine if you dont spray the can totally dry!

what kind turbo are you installing? Yeah, it was the free car. I just sprayed it in the alley. Stupid bugs kept flying into the wetpaint and getting stuck :banghead:
