any experiences with Kumho ECSTA 711's?

Just wondering if anybody has had any experience with the Kumho 711's the local OK Tire store recommended them for my stock Honda Civic. I'm trying to justify if I should spend the extra $12 each per tire and get the Falken ZE512s or go for the Kumho 711's, money is tight right now because of school but if the ZE512s are orders of magnitude better then the 711's I could spend the extra cash. I posted in the Ze512 vs. Kumho 712 thread, but since the 711 and 712 are different tires I thought I would start a new thread for opinions on the 711's.

Any opinions on the 711's? I also heard the Ze512s are being discontinued in the 195/50/15 size, anybody else hear that?

here's my list of important things for my new tires in order of most important to least important:

1. Not being discontinued in my size in the near future (195/50/15 in cast of warranty issues down the road)
2. moderate price range (up to $95 per tire max.)
3. not to loud
4. good wet weather preformance
5. rim protecting ridge (only the ZE512's seem to have that)
6. decent tread wear
7. decent dry weather preformance (I think most tires in this size range have pretty good dry weather preformance that's why I put it down here)

712 is superior in wet/dry but will wear faster. 711 will last longer but it will not grip as well and it has a softer sidewall.

ive had the 711's and they seemed very loud for me and wore preatty fast, then i got the 712's and it was not as loud but still quite loud and it still wore out quite fast.

i personally would never again go with either of the kumho's, i say go for the Falken ZE512s and tell us how you like them :thumbsup:

well I got the Falken ZE512's finally. It took a 1 week and a half to get them in, but they're pretty damn good so far, they seem to seem a bit softer then the no names I had on there before but that was probably because the no names had no trend left on them and they felt nice and stiff. Haven't tried them on rain yet. They look really good on the car. Cost me $500 for everything with taxes at Kaltire, and they even scraped one of my rims along the edge about 5 inches long, the metal shavings are still stuck to it. I'm not sure if I should complain, they probably won't do anything since that partiacular rim was scratched up aready anyway, plus they'll just piss me off when they tell me there's nothing they can do. I decided not to go with the Kumho's because I've now heard from a couple of different sources that they're loud, and wear fast. So that's it.

check out the hankook aurora k103s in place of the 712's

see if you can get prices on some yokohama ES100's . They are awsome tires for the money. They have a high treadwear rating, absolutely amazing wet handling, very predictable, responsive dry handling, and the noise isn't too bad. See what you can find. I have been using them for about 5 yrs on various cars. I love em.

i had the 711's on my prelude and i suffered from mad camber wear...but they weren't ever loud to me. and they were not the best under wet driving conditions. even if i didn't sufffer from camber wear, i'm sure they wouldn't wear well...

i wouldn't recommend them
