reffing was bad, philly got a way with a few too many men penalties, i saw the ref raise his hand but then ended up not making the call?

good finish by briere though.

I agree with you in a way, but as a goalie, Esche desrves to win more than anyone else on the ice. He was just simply amamzing today.

Oooh, 2-1 for Edmonton after the 2nd period! Could there be an upset in the works?

buh_buh
04-23-2006, 12:52 PM
3-2. 1 game doesn't count as an upset, sweeps are kind of rare, even in a 1 vs 8 series. Even if they can pull this off, its going to take 3 more wins to pull off a real upset.

cman
04-23-2006, 01:19 PM
I still chose Edmonton to split the series in Detroit, then lose the next 3.

Good for Edmonton. Hopefully they can split the Edmonton series too, that should give them a lot of confidence. And taking Detroit 7 is always a good strategy -- attrition damage and all.

Fack I have jagr....freaking injury. At least I have Langenbrunner for insurance purposes too, so it goes both ways (but I'd rather have new york win since nobody else has any new york picks) So far these playoffs are kickin ass. to the new NHL.

its always highest seed vs lowest seed. So the only way we can see a Calgary Edmonton series is if Dallas loses to Colorado too, or they both make it to the conference finals.

good god the habs game is intense...up 3-0 after the first, then we blow the lead bigtime, to 3-2, 2 more fast goals by carolina so habs are losing 4-3, but then BAM 2 really quick goals for MTL to retake the lead 5-4.

EDIT: wow what a game...MTL wins 6-5 in 2OT!!

13 wins in a row for NJ. Theyre on top of their game, and New York is done. They started Weekes hoping for some momentum but it looks like Lundqvuist will be starting the next game for them. New Jersey has never lost a series after being up 2-0.

Well Philly got smoked tonight, and are going home early. Buffalo was way to quick, and too skilled for a rough and tough team like the Flyers.

Orginally from MTL I am pretty sad and dissapointed that the habs couldent pull this one off. Pretty average up and down season. Huet played great all year long and in the series. Souray needs to learn how to defend 1 on 1. Get better Saku.

Not that it matters much, but I think in the second round the NJD will destroy the Hurricanes. Marty Brodeur will shut em down.

Now since the Habs are out, all I got left is the good ol flames. Game 7 should be great. Im rooting for a win and a BOA. :goflames: :goflames: :goflames: :goflames:

Will be AWESOME 2 round for the east .. all 4 top seeds !!!

Sens vs Bufflo .. will be awesome .. Real test for Emery ..

Sad to see Montreal out .. however, good to see Canes is back too .. however, I don't think they can beat NJ .... BRODEUR will rob them!

I am hoping to see NJ vs Sens for the east Final!

That could happen tonight out west and would be really fucked up.

  for a NEW JERSEY VS OTTAWA conference final. I think that series will be a good one to watch. Hopefully it will happen.

As for the west. I hope the Oilers go nowhere. Any oiler fan i meet is either cocky or a complete asshole, AND most of them IMO give Edmonton a bad name. and well come on its DEADMONTON.

As for all of us who are flames fan I have a question? Will any of you be rooting for the Ducks to make it through? I see it in two ways. 1) If they do succedd we know we would have been beaten by the best and we got beat by a damn good team or 2) they beat our flames...fuck em they can go to hell and are hope for a second round exit.

Had to retract my previous post cause the sens are not playing the devils....lol Don't know how I got that.
Anyway what the hell were the sens doing late in the third there tonight against the sabers. Up 1 goal with an empty net and in the sabers end and they didn't even try to shoot at the net. At least dump it deep and kill a few more seconds. Sabers come back and score! :banghead: Onto OT

Yeah i saw the 2nd and 3rd period of that game... it was pretty rediculous to watch. It went back and forth so many times. Hopefully the sens can get their shit together.

That is one stupid third pierod .. and OT ..

Sens lost a game that they shouldn't ... with 1.5 mins left ... they could win easy .. if they play just a little bit defence ..

Well .. amazing that they scored in last min ..

but .. it is also stupid that with just 10 second .. all their defencemen were dreaming .. ( and the goalie )

They are such a good team in offence... but defence ...

If Flames + Sens then divided by 2 ... will be an awesome team .. :D

Seanith
05-06-2006, 12:35 PM
Yeah it looks like both teams have pretty bad defence... rookie goalies too. I can see every game being pretty high scoring.

look at all the calgary games, i wouldnt be suprised if they were told to throw the games. you would watch the flames 2 nights a week play like total dominate hardasses punishing everyone, next thing you know they arent even skating properly....shit like that isnt just 'fatigue'..weve seen the flames play, but for some reason i think they were told to hold it off.

I feel your pain man, i'm still a little pissed myself but i'm not buying what you're selling. Especially after seeing game one and half of game two against the Avs. Game one, Sakic gets one shot on net and game two so far he has had only one shot. I fact the Avs are not getting very many shots period. As much as I hate to say it, you gotta give the Ducks credit. They are playing great with awesome defence. I dunno why the anouncers are hyping their goalie so much. Sure he has had a few good saves but he is not being tested much at all.

rony_espana
05-08-2006, 06:25 AM
Thats Sharks vs. Oilers game 1 was kinda crazy last night. Sharks only allowed 7 shots on goal in the last 2 periods, only 2 in the second

Same with the ducks, they only allowed 10 shots in the first 2 periods. Games are really one sided this series.

The rest of the playoff's should be really interesting......
