It's a 98 600ZX-R, 12500 kms, oil changes every year, brake fluid every 2 or 3, valves and maint sched done last season.

Dropped once in a parking lot so there's a ding on the swing arm on the shifter side and some scratches, but whatever. Tires are <2000 kms touring tires. Pro Am said it just needs fork seals done this year which is about 200 bucks.

I like riding and all, I just don't go very often (obviously by the mileage) and my need for speed has decreased over the years. :D So debating about passing it on to some other beginner. But I have no idea on value - some of these I see for 3K others I see for 8K. :nut:

If the swingarm is dented then the bike would fail an inspection and not be street legal. Swingarm is considered part of the frame and any frame damage, even a dent is a write-off.

Wow - no idea. Any reason BF and Bow wouldn't comment? Or is it one of those inspection catch 22s but not a real issue?

Is replacing a swing arm that expensive? Or take it to BF and see what they'd buy it for (if at all).

Working at bike shops for the last 15 years I can tell you we have NEVER failed a bike because of a mark/ding in the swingarm.. so many bikes have them due to the rear-set breaking or lowsides.

To write a vehicle off damage would have to be 60-70% of the vehicles value, and no swingarm is worth 3-4000$ dollars! haha

It looks like its in overall good condition with really low kms. I would say try to get $4000-5000 for it. I've seen some 99-2000 R6 and CBR F4is with twice the kms going for similar prices.

Your best bet would not be to try and sell it on Beyond as well. What I've noticed about bikes on sale on Beyond, is everyone here equates fairing/cosmetic scratches to a $3000 drop in value.
