I don't really know what you're asking,... but Race City does have an "open wheel category" for all the ARCA race events. Thats probably as close to an "indy" style race event that we get. I'm participating in the Challenge Car series this summer and I can't wait to get the Mazda beater onto the race track.

*Edit, what kind of car are you intending on racing? The one in the photo? If you are more specific I might be able to steer you in a better direction.*

The picture is generic.

I'm thinking a beater car to race nothing special. I just want to know what regulations you have to abide by. Can anyone just go to the track and say " can i race today" and thats that?

I don't know enough about race city nor racing but i need a summer hobby and would like to get into this.

Solo2 is where its at for you. Fairly minimal requirements to pass tech, regular events, affordable, etc. Check out the CSCC in the link above for the real stuff or check out secret street friday nights for a taste.

There is lots more to get involved in but it comes at a greater cost...
