Hey guys, has anyone ever gone camping with a huge group of friends? ..(c'mon, I know alot of you must have lol)
I'm trying to organize a big camping trip with around 18 people but I'm having problems finding a campsite that will let us in there with that many people... I called a campground to reserve 3 sites but they told me that they would only let us have a group site that costs $165 a night.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do or any campgrounds that they've been to with roughly as many people as I'm planning on going with?

The group site would be awesome, I don't see why you wouldn't do that.

a place like sandy mcnab (near elbow falls) would be perfect for a large group... its just a large open area surrounded by trees and shit, and there's fire pits and stuff. the large open area is good for soccer and stuff so it can be a good time. Best part is its also totally secluded from any other campground or anything so no getting kicked out when you're too loud

Yup, that was my camping trip last summer. The one problem (for me at least) was that about 30 beers later, it wasn't all too pleasant to wake up to the sounds of a bunch of dirtbikes and ATVs revving in the woods.

But when you wake up in a tent full of chicks who you've never seen before... Well... it made up for it.

well if your planning on partying, I wouldn't suggest Mclean or Carseland because of the babysitting rangers. I was at Mclean around two weeks ago, and we got shut down at 11pm for being too loud.

You could try random camping, if you know a thing or two!

McLean Creek Free Camping is the best for partying, do not go on a long weekend though, pick a place off the beaten track.

Waiperous? You can fit a lot more than 18 people there!! Our May long group is usually inbetween 10 and 20 and there's plenty of room for us.

Me and my group of friends did this about 2 years ago, and we had 16 people on our trip. We went to Two Jack Lake which is just outside of Banff. What we did was we sent two carloads of people in the morning to reserve all four sites and we had 2 people reserve four sites.
