hey my car just started to leak coolent the other day and now when i have it in idle for a while it starts to overheat and leaks coolent everywhere what could it be? is it my thermostat or do i just need new coolent?

i belive its comeing from the over flow tank i can dubble check
its on a 91 mr2

no i beeded the systom right and i did a coolent flush last year and the car never did this untell now if ther is air in the systom how would it get ther all of a suden?

i noticed that its kleaking from the middle of the car so the lines mabey and also the car heat works some times then sometimes it dosn't?. also i can only drive for about 10 min befor it gets too hot any one know what this may be?

if the heat is working on and off, it should be an air bubble.. try reflushing again and see if it fixes it.

Check for leaks in any of your heater hoses or water lines, the leak could be causing the air pocket which is making your car overheat

Trace the coolant lines, i think there is two that run parallel on each side under the body.

If one of them is puntured... then what he stated above. :)
Or even if one of them isnt clamped down tightly :D

I dont think its the HG ;) so dont need to worry too much LOL

If it's the 5SFE, there are two coolant lines that run behind the parallel to the block behind the exhaust manifold. As well there are two hoses that go in and out of the throttle body at the bottom of it. Other than that there are the main rad hoses and then the hoses going into the firewall for the heater, Check all of those, my guess is that one of the rubber hoses either cracked or split. Good luck finding the leak :thumbsup:

is it possable it got punctured when i toke my car in the get a stearo hooked up
cause it just started to happen after i got a sub and amp put in?
are ther any lines close behind the seats where that got drilled in??
