Hey check it out, this is my first car, an 87 corolla, super super low mileage, only 120k. Just learn how to drive stick last week, its working out alright for now. Planning to do a lot of "clean" up and modifications.

But first i ahve to get it plated (safety test) no e-brake cable and i think the seat belt doesn't work (i tried to pull really hard and fast)

Congrats on the car. 120k is very low for sure, did you buy it off some grandma or something?

Take lots of before and after pics when you are doing your "mods"

Oh no, i was in a small town, heading back home, and i stoped at a stop sign. Saw the headlight thinking "noway, it has to be a fwd or something" then i saw "GTS TWIN CAM" So i followed the guy home. I convince him to sell it to me. lol

Nice! You may already know what a rabid following those cars have, and how much they can go for. I don't know too much about the AE86 otherwise, but I hope you got a good price for it.

GTS Jeff also has a Corolla - the coupe, not the hatch, but I'll let him post about his love/hate relationship with it.

oh yeah, I know, Well, I had many options what i wanted at first, probably the most intrested one is the EVO VIII, Rx8 and e36, s2k, or 240sx.

But i found this car insted. I even couldn've got the evo 8 plated in canada too. my budget for rx8, evo, and s2k were 20k usd. and spend around extra 5k for light modifications. But now starting at a cheap ae86 I can do alot more onto it, and cheaper insurence... I'm definally gonna keep everyone posted how the prj is going, probably see me driving it if you ever vist ontario... just look for "Rabbit Stew"

you had 20k to spend on your first car???

anyways congratz on the new car
the AE86 is a really fun car to drive. the engine is actually quite quick due to teh power / weight ration. its rear wheel drive so its an awsome car to learn drift aswell. Fantastic starter car IMO.

With the 20K budget I would suggest throwing in a new engine for that vehicle.

You can get an A101 * I can't remeber the exact name for the engine *

however it is an old Racing engine that you can put in AE86's.
it has about 240 hp N/A and redlines at 11000 rpm.

If you ask me that in a car that weighs about 2200 pounds will be FAST!!

i'm not sure how much they cost or where you can go to get a hold of one but i'd defintaely check it out!

 This is real life, not Mt Akina.

Best thing to do is make it safe, make it reliable (as possible..), then have fun. If the engine shits the bed, then consider a swap.

i'm not sure how much they cost or where you can go to get a hold of one but i'd defintaely check it out! You're referring to the Formula Atlantic 4AG, which is around $20,000 and is designed to be rebuilt every few thousand km. Good job.
