Hey all,

I'm looking for a new system for my car. I had an old JVC cd player that served my purposes fine, but I'm getting a new car, so I figure a new system is the way to go.

I'm looking at spending $400 on the head unit, and then about $600 for an amp and a sub (about a $1000 total). Or would it be better to get a set of fronts, and an amp for now? Get a sub later?

Brands? I've heard Rockford, Phoenix Gold, etc is pretty good. I was over at Auto Impressionz in the NE, and Paul was telling me about the Audiobahns. What do you think?

Welcome any ideas....thanks.....

Just get what makes you happy. Anyone can suggest something to you but in the end its gonna be you listening to it. Let your ears decide.

Good Luck

Oh for sure. I'm not going to blindly buy something based on somebody's recommendation, but I am looking into what brands are good...what kind of power ratings I should be looking for, etc. Just general advice I can follow, and I can test out myself. There are so many different brands and components out there, it would take a lifetime to test each one out! And I know a lot of the knowledgeable people on here can point me in the right direction.

Id stay away from audiobhan. I had a alum 12" and blew it in 2 weeks. As for brands my favorite are eclipse and concept, but those are kind of outa your price range.
