I almost got stuck at the bottom of the hill going up into Arbor Lake! But I made it with tons of wheelspin. Then while pulling up onto the driveway, I almost got stuck again! it wasn't even that sloped. Damn, who would have thought on May 22nd, I would have to worry about snow on the roads because I am on summer tires. :banghead:

I "drift king'd" all the way up the hill. The soft right hander was a complete opposite lock drift hehe.

Wow, its crazy up here in the NW (Arbour Lake)... can't really see it too well in the pictures, but its snowing so hard its almost white out conditions. The wind is certainly not helping.

OMG check out this press release by Calgary EMS!

Problems with HEAT in Calgary? :banghead:

With the expected high to reach over 25C today, Calgary EMS
would like to advise Calgarians to use extra precaution when
enjoying the outdoors today and everyday.

Overexposure to the sun or heat can lead to cramps,
exhaustion and even death. Proper protection is essential for
preventing heat and sun related illness. Preventative
measures include; wearing a hat, drinking plenty of fluids,
preferably water, and wearing sunscreen of SPF 15 or greater.

Prevention is simple, effective and by far preferable to
treatment and can significantly reduce the probability of sun
related illness.

Damn CTS bus beside me this morning changed lanes and bulleted the side of my car with ice and snow, like a high-impact assault, just brutal. WHAM BAM BAM BAM:madred:

haha no doubt, thread #129 .

Kenny was still living with me in Arbour Lake.

People are out and about on all seasons getting stuck everywhere today. There's a silver RSX on summers stuck on John Laurie in between lanes on a flat road. His battery's about to die from the hazards. Idiots out there today I tell ya.

I am in awe of how many cars I still saw driving around yesterday on their summer wheels and tires...

And then this morning I see a few of the tools smacked into curbs haha...

My truck in 4x4 even with mudders today was owning the streets. Yet after 10 blocks I turned around after watching all these cars and trucks drifting the streets around me. I know I could get from A to B if it wasn't for all these curling rocks rolling the streets today.

So for everyone complaining about others driving with summers... how do you know they are actually summer tires? Did you get out and check? Could they be all-seasons? Hell, I have winter tires and I still slip...

I can see it clearly when I drive by. Tread pattern alone can tell in most cases. Winter vs Summer treads looks completely different haha.

Why you would even consider driving on summers in these conditions is beyond me....

If you want to go crash into shit go for it. Just don't hit anyone else when you do it.

What I personally find scary here is that you waited until December 7th to put your winters on.

:werd:

watching people go up the hill infront of my house is hilarious....

because one douche bag didnt put winter tires on, he couldnt go up the hill, therefore was at a stop, causing cars behind to stop, meaning not enough momentum to start driving up the hill anymore

stupid douches :guns:

If you planned on driving your car in the winter you should have put on winters WEEKS ago. Otherwise you shouldn't even drive it.

Oh ok why didn't you mention that earlier. Having them in your garage makes it perfectly ok for you to go around town sliding into people/cars/trees etc..

btw: Calgary Transit.....................use it.

They ought to make winter tires mandatory like in Quebec. Thats probably the one good thing those guys did (no offense to anyone from Quebec! )

I have winters on right now, and I slipped a few times last night, I can't imagine driving without them

ekguy

Well it sucks without my winters on but I'm from NB so the amount of snow we got last night was quite negligible. We get this much in an hour or so in NB. Was funny watching all the stupid people who for some reason drive like they've just seen snow for the first time in their lives though.

please, hand back your man card

ekguy
12-08-2008, 09:28 AM
I am putting them on myself...Live at my sister's house have to wait till everyone clears out of the garage for work until i have access to it...Figure it's almost time to get it done...Ugh mornings suck...

Did we get more snow overnight?

12-08-2008, 09:47 AM
mmm

safety > convenience
i've never had a garage to change my tires in up until recently and now i don't have tires to switch, i've always done it in the snow/cold/ice/whatever

just change your tires

van
12-08-2008, 09:51 AM
lol, the funny people I see driving on the roads (no offense but mostly women) are the ones that only have 2 front winter tires
