I've used NXT and Gold Class, but not the nanowax.

I've tried a lot of waxes and of all the easily found over-the-counter readily available waxes out there nothing LOOKS as good as NXT on a black car. IMO NXT > Gold Class for looks.

NXT also has better swirl-hiding ability. But its durability is questionable.

The LOOK and ease of application are NXT's strong points.

I've used the same system for 3 years now, and I've tried many other brands, Turtlewax, Eagle, and others. I will not try another type of wax, as I am really impressed with the quality of the Meguires gold class. I also use an orbital buffer/polisher for application too. That really does help over the traditional "elbow grease" method.

Yeah i did it all by hand, 8 hours it took me. i thought my sholder was going to fall off after.

Why not use both?

Coat of NXT to hide the swirls
and coat of Gold to finish it?

I use ZYMOL or s100

Meguires makes waxes that look very good but don't last worth a shit. As much as I love my car to shine I find waxing too much work to have to do it every second month. That's why I use the Klasse system. One application of the cleaner wax and two applications of the sealer gives you the Meguires look for a minimum of 6 months.

Klasse is a top notch wax, as is 3M. Gold Class will give you more depth in the color, and NXT will give you more reflection. Meaning that if you have a black car, you should probably want to use Gold Class so that you will see the color, and not just be seeing reflections (unless that's what you like). Nano's a good and easy wax to put on, and will do the job for most cars. In terms of durability, I've 3 sections of my car with each kind, and they're all about the same with the slight edge to the Gold Class. NXT fills in swirls, but doesn't polish it off.

Their #20 Polymer Sealant and #26 Hi-Tech Yellow last much much longer than either NXT or Gold Class. I've had #20 last me nearly an entire winter on my daily driver. And I've seen #26 last me at least 3 months.

I don't disagree with the votes for the Klasse system, but it wouldn't be my first choice for black. (looks better on light colors like silver IMO).

klasse isn't a wax, it's a 2-part system consisting of All-In-One and Sealant Glaze. it's a synthetic acrylic system.

some cars that i've done:

used Meguiar's DACP with a cutting pad and 1 coat of NXT

http://www.hostdub.com/albums/zilla_album01/Doolie_side_filtered.sized.jpg

Used Poorboys SSR 2.5 and SSR 1 with 2 passes of Klasse AIO and 1 coat of Klasse SG

http://www.hostdub.com/albums/zilla_album07/yummy2.sized.jpg (http://www.hostdub.com/zilla_album07:yummy2)

i don't have pics of a dark coloured car with #26, but this was mine a with 1 pass of DACP, Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze, and 2 coats of #26

Basically it comes down to prep work. If you do a meticulous job in your prep, even cheap-ass turtle wax will look good. Do a shit prep job, and even your $8000/can Zymol wax will look like ass.

I don't believe anyone called it a wax. The end result is the same though. I haven't tried it on a black car so I can't comment on that (I've heard from a few people now that it isn't the best on black) but it was superior to anything I had ever used on my metallic green Eclipse and my white SRT-4 still looks like the paint is still liquid even though I applied the Klass system in September or so of last year. My brother swore by Meguires since the early 90's but after letting him use my Klasse system for one application on his blue metallic A4 Quattro, he was asking me where to order. It's like you said though it all comes down to prep work and there are some guys that even swear by the new turtle wax so to each his own I guess.

Thanks for the help guys but I did my homework and what im doing is this:

1) wash car with dish soap to remove wax
2) use clay bar with clay bar lube
3) Buy porter cable 2 in 1 polisher and use Menzerna intensive polish
4) Use menzerna finishing polish
5) use menzerna glaze
6) use menzerna full molecular coation (acrylic)
7) take break after the 8 hours work I just did.

I NXT'd my car, and it looks great, and it still beads well, but the swirls and scratches started to show through after three weeks, or has it been four? Not long in any case, and the swirl marks are very prominent already. Gold Class lasts about the same amount of time.

I used to use Zaino. Work very well, smell nice, and car shine very nicely. Only thing is it takes lot of time.

Last used Klasse and like it. Bad smell, and thinner than Zaino.

What would work on a yellow car? I had a black Maxima before and the Meguiar stuff was super.

I've been thinking about trying the Menzerna line.

Let me know how you find it. I'm really interested.

Hey, where are you getting Menzerna IP? I wanted to get some but couldn't find any without ordering from the states, so I had to get Meg's DACP instead.

I actually have a thread in general car/bike talk asking where to buy it locally, if I can't find any I will buy buying from www.properautocare.com which thus far looks like the best possible wealth of information along with reasonable prices I have seen yet.
