I'm looking to buy a toyota Hilux. I'm looking for one that is in very good shape with low km's. I saw a few in the trader a couple of months ago but there appears to be none for sale right now.

My brother bought one from a guy in Regina about 3 months ago. It was a 1990 I believe with 60K, 2.4L Turbo Diesel for about 9K. I know the guy said he had another on the way. If you are interested in a drive out to Sask, I could probably hook you up with his number.

I was kind of looking for something in the Calgary area. But the km's and the price sounds good. I wish that I had time to drive to Regina.

you should look into importing one yourself. you can get it for way cheaper and i dont think it is really that hard.

I just don't want to buy something sight unseen. I would rather pay more to have something that I can get inspected and checked out.

Word of advice, you probably want to opt for the 3.0 rather than the 2.4L. I've never seen another vehicle as gutless as this trying to pass on the highway.

The 3L (not 3.0 L - 2.8 L I believe and not turbo) is even more gutless than the 2LTE. Even still, I don't think you can get a 3L in the Surfs, only the pickups.

That being said, the Japanese 2LTE engines are well known for head and head gasket issues. Check out toyotadiesel.com if you don't believe me. Take everything you hear with a grain of salt. Some people have blown several head gaskets but they also seem to be the ones turning up the boost. You are wise to buy a landed Hilux. It is common that they land with head issues when none seemed to be present before they left.

I think Stampede Toyota has a two door for sale, or at least they did a little while ago.
