View Full Version : Car Choices

Hey Beyond,

I have about 25,000 to spend on a vehicle, however, my mind is everywhere. One minute its an Acura RSX, the next is the long-time wanted Honda Prelude (2001 SE).

I just need advice on the car choice that is the best. These automobiles may not be necessarily in the same class, and your answers may be just personal preferences, however, facts to your choice would be top notch.

If the list doesn't show up, here it is:

Acura RSX (2002 Premium)

Acura Integra (2000 GSR or 2001 SE)

Honda Prelude (2000 or 2001 SE)

Toyota Celica (2000 to 2004 GT or GT-S)

Mercedes Benz C230K (2002)

Throughout the poll list, please pick one and do your thing explaining. Thanks and lates!!

BTW... I have already received some offers on some cars to purchases from some fellow Beyonders, however, VWGTIVR6, JOECUI, MEFRO and RED9960, and others if we can compromise a good price... Im ready!! :D :burnout:

I'd say prelude because in my biased opinion it looks better than any of those other cars

Though I gotta ask, why only the 00 and 01?
It was all the same from 97-01

the benz. it's not fast but it has class (low entry but it decent)

Exactly, but RSX can look crazy too.

I choose 2000-2001 because I would like the newest model from the line.

I see. Well I will go ahead and advise you against the SH models of the Prelude. Call up Honda one day and ask for ANY of the suspension parts for an SH. They have all been either discontinued or are on back order and will take months to get a hold of! :guns:

Edit: I don't like the RSX's anymore. Dime a dozen if you ask me.
Specially if they're not Type-S

I chose the Celica from your list. GTS is my choice from your selection. reliable, good resale value, newer, fuel efficient, lightweight, 2L small engine with 180hp. :D

Dont even bother with a non Type-S RSX.

I'd say no to the Premium. There are so many out there (Plus it seems that mostly girls drive it?) and you'd be disappointed that you didn't get a Type S. Lots more available aftermarket for the Type S.

Don't get the Integra SE since it's not even a V-tech. The GS-R would be a good choice though.

I don't like the styling of the Celica but that doesn't matter since it's your preference.

As for the Benz. If you want luxury and class, then you should pick that.

I say the Prelude but like arian_ma, I'm biased.

prelude, but i am biased too lol

second choice would be GSR

Wow...

Some things you are mentioning I didn't know...

Please keep it coming... more is usually best.

Yea,

But 350's are two seaters, technically,, I dont want one. I like the 4's (Well and Prelude style kinda being 2 seaters but not really).

Not biased or anything, but I would take a German car over a Japenese/Chinese/Korean/etc. car.

;) Benz.

Why is that...

Please guys, you got stats with your pick... Performance, Handling, Hp, blah...

Why which one is better specifically

As you can see, we all have mixed feelings. That should tell you that you got some great cars to choose from and it's just your preference now. I mean if you said something like Prelude, Integra, Ion. Or Cavalier, Talon, etc. We would have something to say about those and you'd have some choices eliminated. So far, of your choices, at least one person picked one of them for one reason or another. See what you like best.

I say for 25 g you can easily get yourself a Type S. Probably an 03 maybe even an 04 if you are lucky

Find a great deal on one and buy it. If you get sick of it, because you got a great deal on it, sell it and buy another car on that list and keep repeating it.

I've owned a Prelude SH before and while it I loved it at the time, I think my RSX-S smokes it in every aspect. My $0.02

Hmm... I was looking at your beems also... :D

This is so interesting... Acura RSX and Integra are tied and the Honda Prelude and MB C230 are tied...

Which performs the best (I guess if it was just stock) out of the options.

If you have RSX Premium in your list, and $25K in the pocket, you should at least entertain the idea of a new Civic EX.

Use less gas, has slightly less power but still a pretty good car. Get it with a manual and a little bit of bargaining may get you one for $25K out the door. Plus ease of mind with 3/5 years of warranty.

Celica is fine but if you're over 5'8", you'll find the cabin to be a bit tight. And it's a bit of a chick mobile.

C230 are nice but watch out for repairs.

Tegs are too old looking now.

Ludes are cool too.

with 25 why would you even consider a premium rsx?.. theres no decision,... its type s or broke

Why not RSX type S ? type S is not much more .. I bought mine used 2 yr ago with 20K on it, just $25K .... ( bought 2002 model yr in 2004 ) so they are probaby $20K now ..

I still like Prelude more.... but it is older car .. RSX-S is just overall better car .. ( prelude looks nicer )

GTS is not bad .. but RSX-S is better ..

C230 .. do u mean that ulgy benz hatchback? that was one big mistake from BENZ ... if the C class sedan ... then it is quite nice .. :)

New Civic SI? Should be around your price range.

I you are looking to mod the car, the I would say RSX just because of the things that are available for the super-sexy K-series powerplant. I would also up this choice to an RSX-S.

I am assuming that the Benz is in there as an option for non-modding and more "refinement". If you're not modding, this would certainly give you an elevated level of comfort.

None of these cars have warranties, so why not go big, get a 94 Mercedes E500 or BMW M5, they can be had for about $25 000. Then you've got speed that will blow all these cars out of the water, great handling, luxury, style, and a car that's rarer than anything on your list.

Get a used BMW M3, much better than those other choices in my opinion

SI would be closer to $30K out the door.

Don't get me wrong .. both M5 or E500 were great car ...

but .. just not many E500 around .. not many of them were sold back then ... if he can find one in good shape and good price ... that is good .. but not many kids like big boxy style fast sedan ... they may like Civic Si over C32 or M5 etc .. :dunno:

There is something very wrong with you if a civic is your car of choice over a M5:guns:

Anways, i'd go celica GT-S, used to have one. Great car fun to drive, nicer interior, damn i loved that thing.
If not then go with the benz, so much more refined and comfy:thumbsup:

Hello, I would do the RSX Type-S but I thought they were more expensive than $25,000.

Prelude... it may be old, but they are damn sleek and sexy.

C230K I find that they are a good entry into class. Plus they have the sporty look and engine to it, especially the 2002 with the 2.2L.

BTW... WHY IS EVERYONE SAYING TO GO FOR EITHER THE RSX TYPE-S OR THE PRELUDE BUT MERCEDES HAS THE MOST VOTES?
